Penelitian ini berjudul “Perkembangan Pariwisata Desa Ulee Lheue Pasca Tsunami
2005–2024”, yang bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui kondisi pariwisata Desa Ulee
Lheue sebelum tsunami 2004. (2) Mengetahui dampak tsunami 2004 terhadap
pariwisata di Desa Ulee Lheue. (3) Mengetahui perkembangan pariwisata Desa Ulee
Lheue pasca tsunami 2005–2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif
dengan metode sejarah yang bersifat deskriptif analisis. Teknik pengumpulan data
dilakukan melalui tinjauan pustaka, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian
adalah: (1) Sebelum tsunami, Desa Ulee Lheue merupakan kawasan strategis dengan
pelabuhan laut, pantai, dan wisata bahari yang ramai dikunjungi masyarakat maupun
wisatawan. (2) Tsunami 2004 memberikan dampak yang sangat besar dengan
menghancurkan infrastruktur pariwisata hingga menurunkan jumlah wisatawan. (3)
Pasca tsunami, perkembangan pariwisata Desa Ulee Lheue melalui beberapa tahap
seperti pembangunan infrastruktur dasar hingga perkembangan fasilitas wisata dengan
diversifikasi objek wisata bahari, kuliner, religi, dan wisata sejarah yang semakin
menarik minat wisatawan.

This research is entitled “The Development of Tourism in Ulee Lheue Village after the Tsunami 2005–2024”, which aims to: (1) Identify the condition of tourism in Ulee Lheue Village before the 2004 tsunami. (2) Examine the impact of the 2004 tsunami on tourism in Ulee Lheue Village. (3) Analyze the development of tourism in Ulee Lheue Village after the tsunami from 2005 to 2024. This study employs a qualitative approach using historical methods with a descriptive-analytical nature. Data collection techniques were carried out through literature review, documentation, and interviews. The findings of this research are: (1) Before the tsunami, Ulee Lheue Village was a strategic area with a seaport, beach, and marine tourism that were frequently visited by both the local community and tourists. (2) The 2004 tsunami had a major impact by destroying tourism infrastructure and drastically reducing the number of visitors. (3) After the tsunami, the development of tourism in Ulee Lheue Village went through several stages, starting from the reconstruction of basic infrastructure to the growth of tourism facilities with diversified attractions such as marine tourism, culinary tourism, religious tourism, and historical tourism, which increasingly attracted visitors.
