Kopi memiliki sifat antibakteri terhadap S. mutans, bakteri penyebab karies. Jika kopi dikonsumsi dengan tambahan gula maupun krimer dapat meningkatkan risiko karies gigi. Karies gigi, yaitu kerusakan jaringan gigi akibat hilangnya mineral, jika tidak diobati dapat menyebabkan nyeri, infeksi, dan kehilangan gigi, yang berdampak negatif pada kualitas hidup seseorang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran indeks DMF-T pada individu dengan kebiasaan konsumsi kopi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross-sectional. Penentuan besar subjek penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling yang melibatkan 35 subjek di Gampong Nusa. Pemeriksaan gigi dilakukan dengan menggunakan indeks DMF-T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengkonsumsi kopi memiliki nilai indeks DMF-T 6,57 (tinggi). Berdasarkan frekuensi, subjek yang mengkonsumsi kopi > 4 cangkir menunjukkan nilai indeks DMF-T 10,6 (sangat tinggi), berdasarkan durasi konsumsi kopi, subjek yang mengkonsumsi kopi > 5 tahun memiliki nilai indeks DMF-T 7,2 (sangat tinggi). Kesimpulan penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa indeks DMF-T pada individu dengan kebiasaan konsumsi kopi di Gampong Nusa memiliki nilai rata-rata indeks DMF-T adalah sebesar 6,57 yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi.

Coffee has possesses antibacterial properties against Streptococcus mutans, the bacteria responsible for dental caries. When coffee is consumed with added sugar or creamer, it can increase the risk of dental caries. Dental caries, which is the destruction of tooth structure due to the loss of minerals, if left untreated, can cause pain, infectionn, and tooth loss, all of which negatively affect a person’s quality of life. This study aimed to determine the description of the DMF-T index among individuals with coffee consumption habits. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. The sample size was determined using a purposive sampling method, involving 35 subjects in Gampong Nusa. Dental examination was conducted using the DMF-T index. The results showed that most coffee consumers had a DMF-T index value of 6.57 (high). Based on frequency, subjects who consumed more than 4 cups of coffee showed a DMF-T index value of 10.6 (very high), based on duration of coffee consumption, subjects who consumed coffee for more than 5 years had a DMF-T index value of 7.2 (very high). The conclusion of this study illustrates that the DMF-T index in individuals with a habit of consuming coffee in Gampong Nusa has an average DMF-T index value of 6.57 which is included in the high category.
