Diabetes melitus (DM) merupakan penyakit kronis yang ditandai oleh peningkatan kadar glukosa darah serta gangguan metabolisme lainnya. Selain menimbulkan dampak fisik, DM juga sering disertai dampak psikologis, seperti stres, yang dapat memengaruhi kualitas hidup pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tingkat stres dan kualitas hidup pasien DM di Puskesmas Baiturrahman, Banda Aceh. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross-sectional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 95 pasien DM yang dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang telah ditetapkan. Instrumen penelitian meliputi Diabetes Distress Scale (DDS-17) untuk mengukur tingkat stres dan World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) untuk menilai kualitas hidup pasien. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden (60%) mengalami stres tingkat sedang. Pada aspek kualitas hidup, sebagian besar responden (68,4%) memiliki kualitas hidup sedang. Hasil uji statistik Spearman’s rho menunjukkan nilai p-value sebesar 0,006 dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,279. Permasalahan emosional yang sering dialami pasien DM antara lain disebabkan oleh lamanya proses pengobatan, keharusan mengubah gaya hidup dengan menjalani diet ketat, serta ketakutan terhadap komplikasi dan risiko kematian. Stres yang dialami berdampak pada penurunan kualitas hidup, khususnya pada aspek fisik dan psikologis. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan kualitas hidup pada pasien DM di Puskesmas Baiturrahman dengan kekuatan korelasi yang cukup.

In addition to physical effects, DM is often accompanied by psychological effects, such as stress, which can affect patients' quality of life. This study aims to analyze the relationship between stress levels and the quality of life of DM patients at the Baiturrahman Community Health Center, Banda Aceh. The research design used was cross-sectional with a quantitative approach. The research sample consisted of 95 DM patients selected using purposive sampling based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research instruments included the Diabetes Distress Scale (DDS-17) to measure stress levels and the World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) to assess patients' quality of life. The results showed that most respondents (60%) experienced moderate stress. In terms of quality of life, most respondents (68.4%) had a moderate quality of life. The results of Spearman's rho statistical test showed a p-value of 0.006 with a correlation coefficient of -0.279. Emotional problems often experienced by DM patients were caused by the length of the treatment process, the need to change their lifestyle by undergoing a strict diet, and fear of complications and the risk of death. The stress experienced has an impact on the decline in quality of life, particularly in physical and psychological aspects. The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between stress levels and quality of life in DM patients at the Baiturrahman Community Health Center with a fairly strong correlation.
