Pengetahuan mengenai kaidah dasar bioetika merupakan salah satu materi dalam mata kuliah humaniora dalam kurikulum pendidikan kedokteran yang harus dipahami secara baik oleh mahasiswa. Pendidikan etika merupakan salah satu masalah utama etika kedokteran. Di Fakultas Kedokteran, pendidikan etika saat ini telah terintegrasi dalam kurikulum berbasis kompetensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Dokter Universitas Syiah Kuala terhadap kaidah dasar bioetika serta hubungannya dengan sikap penilaian moral. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh mahasiswa aktif Pendidikan Dokter Universitas Syiah Kuala dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 220 responden, yang dipilih menggunakan rumus Slovin. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring (Google Form) dan dianalisis menggunakan uji chi-square untuk menguji hubungan antarvariabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 74,5% mahasiswa memiliki pemahaman yang baik terhadap kaidah dasar bioetika, yang meliputi prinsip autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, dan justice. Selain itu, ditemukan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pemahaman bioetika dengan sikap penilaian moral mahasiswa (OR = 8,308; p = 0,000), yang berarti semakin baik pemahaman bioetika mahasiswa, semakin positif pula sikap moral yang ditunjukkan. Disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman bioetika tidak hanya berperan dalam aspek kognitif, tetapi juga berpengaruh terhadap pembentukan karakter dan penilaian moral mahasiswa kedokteran.

Knowledge of the basic principles of bioethics is one of the topics in the humanities course within the medical education curriculum that must be well understood by students. Ethics education is one of the main issues in medical ethics. In the Faculty of Medicine, ethics education has now been integrated into a competency-based curriculum. This study aims to determine the level of understanding of medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Syiah Kuala University, regarding the basic principles of bioethics and their relationship with moral judgment attitudes. This research employed a descriptive-analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The study population included all active medical students at Syiah Kuala University, with a total sample of 220 respondents selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through an online questionnaire (Google Form) and analyzed using the chi-square test to examine the relationship between variables. The results showed that 74.5% of students had a good understanding of the basic principles of bioethics, which include the principles of autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice. Furthermore, a significant relationship was found between students’ understanding of bioethics and their moral judgment attitudes (OR = 8.308; p = 0.000), indicating that the better the students’ understanding of bioethics, the more positive their moral attitudes. It is concluded that understanding bioethics plays not only a cognitive role but also contributes to the development of character and moral judgment among medical students.
