Cedera akut merupakan salah satu kondisi yang terjadi di Instalasi Gawat Darurat (IGD) dan memerlukan penanganan segera demi mencegah komplikasi serta membatasi kecacatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan jenis dan mekanisme cedera akut di IGD RSUD Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode desain deskriptif eksploratif dengan pendekatan prospektif cross-sectional study. Sampel sebanyak 63 pasien cedera akut diambil menggunakan teknik total-sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar rekam medis dan lembar checklist. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis cedera akut yang paling sering terjadi adalah cedera kepala dan fraktur (39,7%), dengan kecelakaan lalu lintas sebagai mekanisme utama (52,4%). Mayoritas pasien berjenis kelamin laki-laki dengan rentang usia 2–83 tahun dengan confidence interval 95% sebesar 21,83–31,57 tahun menjadi penyumbang terbanyak jenis cedera akut (44,4%). Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi data dasar untuk mendukung peningkatan pelayanan keperawatan gawat darurat, khususnya dalam penatalaksanaan pasien cedera akut di IGD secara cepat dan tepat.

Acute injury is one of the conditions that occur in the Emergency Department (ED) and requires immediate treatment to prevent complications and limit disability. This study aims to describe the types and mechanisms of acute injuries in the Emergency Department of Zainoel Abidin Hospital Banda Aceh. This study used an exploratory descriptive design method with a prospective cross-sectional study approach. A sample of 63 acute injury patients was taken using the total-sampling technique. Data were collected through medical record sheets and checklist sheets. The results of the study indicate that the most common type of acute injury is head injury and fractures (39.7%), with traffic accidents as the primary mechanism (52.4%). The majority of patients were male, with an age range of 2–83 years and a 95% confidence interval of 21.83–31.57 years, contributing the most to acute injuries (44.4%). The results of this study are expected to be basic data to support the improvement of emergency nursing services, especially in the management of acute injury patients in the emergency room quickly and accurately.
