Latar belakang dalam penelitian ini dilandasi oleh motivasi belajar mahasiswa
dimana dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya adalah pola asuh orang tua.
Pola asuh yang diterapkan secara tepat diyakini mampu membentuk sikap dan
semangat belajar yang positif pada anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui
pengaruh pola asuh orang tua terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini
menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Populasi
dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 1.394 orang pada mahasiswa FKIP USK angkatan
2021. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 93 mahasiswa, penentuan sampel pada
penelitian ini menggunakan rumus slovin, teknik pengambilan sampel
menggunakan proportional stratified random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data
pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuisioner, studi kepustakaan, dan dokumentasi.
Sedangkan data dianalisis melalui uji normalitas, linieritas, dan regresi linier
sederhana dengan bantuan SPSS 26. Berdasarkan uji regresi diperoleh hasil Y=
87,842 + 0,794 X, yang berarti setiap peningkatan pola asuh orang tua akan
meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak sebesar 0,794. Selanjutnya hipotesis uji t
menunjukkan nilai thitung 3,641 > ttabel1,661dengan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05,
sehingga Ha diterima dan Ho ditotak. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R Square)
sebesar 0,127, yang berarti bahwa pola asuh orang tua memberikan kontribusi
pengaruh sebesar 12,7% terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa, sedangkan sisanya
dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pola asuh
orang tua memiliki pengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa FKIP USK.

The background of this research is based on student learning motivation, which is influenced by various factors, one of which is parenting style. A properly implemented parenting style is believed to be capable of shaping a positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning in children. This study aims to determine the effect of parenting style on students' learning motivation. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive type of study. The population in this research consists of 1,394 students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Syiah Kuala University (USK), class of 2021. The sample size is 93 students, determined using the Slovin formula. The sampling technique used is proportional stratified random sampling. Data collection techniques in this study include questionnaires, literature studies, and documentation. The data were analyzed through normality tests, linearity tests, determination (R Square), and simple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 26. Based on the regression test, the equation obtained is Y = 87.842 + 0.794X, which means that each increase in parenting style leads to a 0.794 increase in student learning motivation. Furthermore, the t-test hypothesis shows a value of t_calculated = 3.641 > t_table = 1.661, with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis(Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis(Ho) isrejected. The coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.127, which means that parenting style contributes 12.7% to the students’ learning motivation, while the remaining 87.3% is influenced by other factors. Thus, it can be concluded that parenting style has a on the learning motivation of FKIP USK students.
