Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan representasi perempuan dalam novel Malioboro at Midnight karya Skysphire. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini novel Malioboro at Midnight karya Skysphire dengan data berupa kalimat, paragraf, dan dialog dalam novel yang memuat representasi perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui membaca novel, mencatat, dan mendeskripsikan. Kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan teori feminisme eksistensialis Simone de Beauvoir melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dalam novel ini mampu mewujudkan eksistensinya melalui empat strategi utama, (1) bekerja untuk mencapai kemandirian ekonomi, (2) mengembangkan pemikiran kritis sebagai bentuk kebebasan intelektual, (3) berpartisipasi dalam transformasi sosial melalui tindakan-tindakan kecil yang bermakna, dan (4) menolak posisi sebagai “Liyan” dengan menegaskan identitas serta kebebasan pribadi. Secara keseluruhan, novel ini menggambarkan perempuan sebagai sosok tangguh dan mandiri yang mampu mengubah cara pandang masyarakat melalui pendidikan, kerja keras, dan penolakan terhadap aturan-aturan patriarki.

This study aims to describe the representation of women in Skysphire's novel Malioboro at Midnight. The approach used is qualitative with a descriptive research type. The subject of this study is Skysphire's novel Malioboro at Midnight with data in the form of sentences, paragraphs, and dialogues in the novel that contain representations of women. Data collection techniques were carried out by reading the novel, taking notes, and describing. The data was then analyzed using Simone de Beauvoir's existentialist feminism theory through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that women in this novel are able to realize their existence through four main strategies: (1) working to achieve economic independence, (2) developing critical thinking as a form of intellectual freedom, (3) participating in social transformation through small but meaningful actions, and (4) rejecting the position of “the Other” by asserting their identity and personal freedom. Overall, this novel portrays women as strong and independent figures who are able to change society's perspective through education, hard work, and rejection of patriarchal rules.
