Abstract Name : Rahmatul Ukhra Student No. : 0906102050052 Study Program : English Language Education Title : The Implementation of Snowball Throwing Model in Teaching Speaking. (An Experimental Study at SMP Negeri 17 Banda Aceh) Keyword: speaking, snowball throwing model The is study intended to find out whether Snowball Throwing model improves the students’ speaking skill at the second grade of SMP Negeri 17 Banda Aceh or not . Quantitative approach with experimental study of one group pre-test post-test design was undertaken to overcome the problems faced by the students in teaching speaking skill. The instrument used to collect the data was oral test. In addition to analyzing the data, the writer used some statistical formula. The finding shows that, the mean score in the post test was increased compared to the mean score in the pre -test. In the pre-test the mean score was 39.8, and in the post test was 66,2. Furthermore, t-test was 4,680 and t-table was 2,060. Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected.
