 <note>ABSTRAK&#13;
Rosella merupakan salah satu tanaman obat tradisional yang memiliki &#13;
daya antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri &#13;
ekstra etanol bunga rosella  (Hibiscus sabdariffa Linn)  dalam menghambat &#13;
pertumbuhan  Klebsiella  pneumoniae. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen &#13;
laboratorium dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang dibagi &#13;
dalam 4 kelompok perlakuan dan 2 kelompok kontrol. Pengulangan masing-masing dilakukan sebanyak 5 kali. Perlakuan terdiri dari ekstrak etanol bunga &#13;
rosella kosentrasi 12,5%, 25%, 50%, dan 75%. Kontrol positif  yang digunakan &#13;
adalah meropenem 10  ug dan kontrol negatif menggunakan akuades. Uji &#13;
antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram  Kirby Bauer. Data analisis &#13;
dengan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian &#13;
menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol bunga rosella dengan kosentrasi 12,5%, 25%, &#13;
50%, dan 75% dapat membentuk zona hambat dengan rata-rata zona hambat &#13;
sebesar 11,4 mm, 14,4 mm, 18,6 mm dan 20,4 mm. Sementara itu  rata-rata &#13;
diameter zona hambat yang dihasilkan oleh kelompok kontrol positif dan kontrol &#13;
negatif  masing-masing adalah  21,6 mm dan 0 mm. Hasil analisis data di peroleh &#13;
bahwa ekstrak bunga rosella kosentrasi 12,5%, 25%, 50%, dan 75% &#13;
menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata dalam menghambat pertumbuhan  Klebsiella &#13;
pneumoniae  dibandingkan kontrol negatif dan positif pada taraf 5%. Semakin &#13;
tinggi kosentrasi ekstrak maka semakin besar zona hambat yang terbentuk. &#13;
Ekstrak etanol bunga rosella dengan kosentrasi 75% memiliki  aktifitas antibakteri &#13;
yang kuat terhadap Klebsiella pneumoniae.&#13;

ABSTRACT&#13;
Rosella is one of traditional medicine that has antibacterial activity. This &#13;
research is aims to determine the antibacterial activity  ethanol extract of the &#13;
rosella  (Hibisus sabdariffa Linn) in inhibitaion the growth of  Klebsiella &#13;
pneumoniae. The method of   this research is laboratory experiment using &#13;
completely randomized design which has divided into 4 treatment group and 2 &#13;
control group. Repetitions of each treatment was done 5 times. The treatment &#13;
group consist of rosella extract with cocentration 12,5%,  25%, 50%, and 75%. &#13;
Positive control was used meropenem 10 ug and negative control was used &#13;
akuades. Antibacterial activity tes was used Kirby Bauer disc diffusion method. &#13;
Data of this research were analyzed by ANOVA followed by Duncan. The results &#13;
showed  that rosella extract in cocentration 12,5%, 25%, 50%, and 75% provide &#13;
average inhibitaion area 11,4 mm, 14,4 mm, 18,6 mm and 20,4 mm. Positive &#13;
control and negaive control provide average inhibitaion area 21,6 mm and 0 mm. &#13;
The data analyzed test results showed that rosella extract in cocentration 12,5%, &#13;
25%, 50%, and 75% had significant differences with negative control and positive &#13;
control in inhibitation of  Klebsiella pneumonia. The higher cocentration of &#13;
extract, the greater inhibitation area was formed.  Rosella extract in cocentration &#13;
75% had antibacterial activity againts Klebsiella pneumoniae.&#13;
