Politik identitas telah menjadi politik lokal di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Sub-etnis Uken-Toa menjadi bentuk persaingan politik di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Politik identitas biasanya ditunjukan pada pemilihan calon kandidat politik berdasarkan latar belakang yang sama. Hal ini sebagai bentuk penghargaan terhadap kesamaan etnis yang dimiliki. Praktik politik identitas juga biasa digunakan sebagai bentuk perjuangan kelompok akibat ketidak adilan ataupun deskriminasi yang dilakukan kepada kelompok tertetu, seperti upaya mendapatkan posisi-posisi baru yang belum pernah didapatkan oleh suatu kelompok. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persaingan politik di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah yang di pengaruhi oleh politik identitas Uken-Toa. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Analisis data ini didapat dari hasil wawancara, pengamatan dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Etnik Relation, Etnosentrisme dan Identitas Etnis. Adapun hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa persaingan politik Uken-Toa dimulai dari perebutan batas wilayah dan penguasaan sumber daya ekonomi melalui kebangkitan etnis serta politik adu domba yang diciptakan oleh Belanda kerena keduanya memiliki hubungan konflik. Sejak masa reformasi persaingan keduanya menyentuh pada persaingan dalam pilkada dan posisi-posisi strategis di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Uken-Toa sering kali dibangkitkan sentimen nya oleh para elit politik. Berdasarkan kesamaan identitas etnis, Uken-Toa menunjukan perilaku politiknya dalam pilkada. Paska reformasi melahirkan posisi-posisi baru seperti kontraktor- kontraktor untuk proyek daerah melalui sikap etnosentrisme persaingan Uken-Toa terlihat dalam penguasaan posisi-posisi baru tersebut. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa politik identitas Uken-Toa berdampak terhadap persaingan politik di kabupaten Aceh Tengah.

Identity politics has become local politics in Central Aceh District. The Uken-Toa sub- ethnicity has become a form of political competition in Central Aceh District. Identity politics is usually shown in the selection of political candidates based on the same background. This is a form of respect for ethnic similarities. The practice of identity politics is also commonly used as a form of group struggle due to injustice or discrimination committed against certain groups, such as efforts to obtain new positions that have never been obtained by a group. The purpose of this research is to find out about political competition in Central Aceh such as Pilkada and whether the competition for strategic positions in Central Aceh is influenced by Uken-Toa identity politics. The methodology used in this research is qualitative with descriptive type. Exploring and analyzing data through direct observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses the theory of Ethnic Relations, Ethnocentrism and Ethnic Identity. The results in this study show that Uken-Toa political competition began with the struggle for territorial boundaries and control of economic resources through ethnic awakening and divide and conquer politics created by the Dutch because the two had a conflictual relationship. Since the reformation period, their rivalry has touched on competition in regional elections and strategic positions in Central Aceh Regency. Uken-Toa is often aroused by political elites. Based on the similarity of ethnic identity, Uken-Toa shows its political behavior in local elections. Post-reform gave birth to new positions such as contractors for regional projects through ethnocentrism, Uken-Toa competition is seen in the control of these new positions. The conclusion of this study shows that Uken-Toa identity politics has an impact on political competition in the Central Aceh district. Keywords:IdentityPolitics,PoliticalCompetition,Uken Toa.
