Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa kelas X MAN Inovasi Aceh Barat Daya menentukan majas dalam puisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X yang berjumlah 198 orang, dengan sampel sebanyak 30 siswa yang dipilih secara acak. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes identifikasi majas pada tiga puisi yang telah dipilih oleh peneliti. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif deskriptif melalui perhitungan skor, konversi ke skala 100, dan klasifikasi hasil berdasarkan standar dari Depdiknas (2006). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam menentukan majas masih tergolong rendah. Berdasarkan data hasil tes, sebanyak 66,7% siswa berada pada kategori sangat kurang, 33,3% berada pada kategori kurang, dan tidak terdapat siswa yang masuk kategori cukup, baik, maupun sangat baik. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengenali dan menentukan jenis majas dalam puisi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif agar siswa mampu mengidentifikasi majas dalam karya sastra, khususnya puisi.

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Mohd. Harun, M.Pd. and Muhammad Idham, S.Pd., M.Ed. This study aims to describe the ability of class X students of MAN Inovasi Aceh Barat Daya to identify figures of speech in poetry. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The population of this study was all 198 class X students, with a sample of 30 students selected randomly. The data collection instrument was a figure of speech identification test on three poems that had been selected by the researcher. The data were analyzed quantitatively descriptively through score calculation, conversion to a 100 scale, and classification of results based on the standards of the Ministry of National Education (2006). The results showed that students' ability to identify figures of speech is still relatively low. Based on the test data, 66.7% of students were in the very poor category, 33.3% were in the poor category, and there were no students in the sufficient, good, or very good categories. These results indicate that the majority of students have difficulty in recognizing and determining the types of figures of speech in poetry. Therefore, a more effective learning strategy is needed so that students are able to identify figures of speech in literary works, especially poetry.
