ABSTRAK
Permainan tenis lapangan merupakan olahraga yang menuntut kombinasi antara teknik, kekuatan fisik, dan strategi. Salah satu teknik dasar yang paling sering digunakan dalam permainan ini adalah pukulan forehand, yang sangat dipengaruhi oleh kekuatan dan daya ledak otot lengan. Power otot lengan menjadi faktor penting dalam menghasilkan pukulan yang kuat, cepat, dan akurat.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara power otot lengan terhadap kemampuan pukulan forehand pada mahasiswa UKM Tenis Lapangan Universitas Syiah Kuala Tahun 2025. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh anggota UKM Tenis Lapangan Universitas Syiah Kuala. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 10 mahasiswa yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen untuk mengukur power otot lengan menggunakan tes Two-Hand Medicine Ball Put, sedangkan kemampuan pukulan forehand diukur menggunakan Hewitt Tennis Accuracy Test. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara power otot lengan terhadap kemampuan pukulan forehand, dengan nilai korelasi r = 0,731 dan p-value = 0,016 < 0,05. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa t-hitung = 3,03 > t-tabel = 2,306, yang berarti hipotesis alternatif diterima. Sumbangan (kontribusi) power otot lengan terhadap kemampuan pukulan forehand adalah sebesar 53,4%, sedangkan sisanya sebesar 46,6% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian ini. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa power otot lengan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan pukulan forehand mahasiswa UKM Tenis Lapangan Universitas Syiah Kuala. Semakin besar kekuatan dan daya ledak otot lengan yang dimiliki, maka semakin baik pula kemampuan melakukan pukulan forehand.

One of the most frequently used basic techniques in the game is the forehand stroke, which is highly influenced by the strength and explosive power of the arm muscles. Arm muscle power plays a crucial role in generating fast, strong, and accurate strokes. This study aims to determine the relationship between arm muscle power and forehand stroke ability in students of the Tennis Court Student Activity Unit (UKM) at Syiah Kuala University in 2025. This research is a correlational study using a quantitative approach. The population of the study consisted of all members of the Tennis Court UKM at Syiah Kuala University. The sample consisted of 10 students selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used to measure arm muscle power was the Two-Hand Medicine Ball Put test, while the forehand stroke ability was measured using the Hewitt Tennis Accuracy Test. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson correlation test. The results showed a significant relationship between arm muscle power and forehand stroke ability, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.731 and a p-value = 0.016 < 0.05. Hypothesis testing indicated that the t-count = 3.03 > t-table = 2,306, meaning the alternative hypothesis was accepted. The contribution of arm muscle power to forehand stroke ability was 53.4%, while the remaining 46.6% was influenced by other factors outside of this study. It can be concluded that arm muscle power has a significant influence on the forehand stroke ability of students in the Tennis Court UKM at Syiah Kuala University. The greater the strength and explosive power of the arm muscles, the better the ability to perform forehand strokes. Keywords: Arm muscle power, forehand stroke, tennis, student-athletes.
