ABSTRAK
Reses merupakan wadah penting bagi masyarakat untuk menyampaikan aspirasi secara
langsung kepada wakil rakyat. Namun, pelaksanaannya di Banda Aceh belum berjalan
optimal karena rendahnya partisipasi masyarakat yang diduga dipengaruhi oleh
rendahnya kesadaran politik. Sebagian masyarakat masih melihat reses hanya sebagai
ajang seremonial tanpa manfaat langsung, sehingga minat untuk hadir pun rendah.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kesadaran politik terhadap
partisipasi politik dalam reses anggota DPRK Banda Aceh tahun 2024. Teori yang
digunakan adalah teori partisipasi politik Huntington dan Nelson serta konsep
kesadaran politik Almond dan Verba. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan
kuantitatif dengan teknik random sampling terhadap 399 responden dan dianalisis
menggunakan regresi linier sederhana melalui SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran politik memiliki pengaruh sebesar 51,1% terhadap
partisipasi politik masyarakat dalam reses. Berdasarkan temuan ini, masyarakat
diharapkan meningkatkan kesadaran politiknya, sedangkan DPRK Banda Aceh perlu
memperbaiki pelaksanaan reses secara terbuka dan partisipatif agar reses benar-benar
menjadi wadah yang menyerap kepentingan masyarakat.

ABSTRACT Recess is an important forum for the public to deliver their aspirations directly to legislative representatives. However, its implementation in Banda Aceh has not been optimal due to the low level of public participation which is believed to be influenced by limited political awareness. Many people still perceive recess as a ceremonial activity with no direct benefit, resulting in low motivation to attend. This study aims to determine the influence of political awareness on political participation in the recess of Banda Aceh DPRK members in 2024. The theories used are the political participation theory of Huntington and Nelson and the concept of political awareness by Almond and Verba. This research applies a quantitative approach with a random sampling technique involving 399 respondents, and the data were analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The results show that political awareness has a significant influence, accounting for 51.1% of political participation in recess. Based on these findings, the public is expected to increase their political awareness by understanding their role as citizens, while the Banda Aceh DPRK should improve the implementation of recess through a more open and participatory approach so that recess truly becomes a platform that captures the interests of the community.
