Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK) merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus Aphtae epozooticae, yang ditandai dengan munculnya luka pada mulut dan kuku pada sapi. Tujuan kegiatan yaitu untuk mengendalikan dan mencegah penyebaran virus PMK pada ternak sapi. Prosedur kegiatan ini dilakukan syarat pemberian vaksin dan rute pemberian vaksin pada sapi. Hasil observasi pada 5 peternakan sapi di Kabupaten Langkat, Sumatera Utara terdata 470 ekor sapi, diantaranya 462 ekor sapi yang diberikan vaksin PMK dan 8 ekor sapi yang tidak memenuhi syarat pemberian vaksin PMK. Vaksinasi PMK diberikan secara intramuskular di daerah otot leher (musculus brachiocephalicus). Pemberian vaksin PMK pada sapi diberikan degan dosis 2 ml/ekor.

Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is a disease caused by the Aphtae epozooticae virus, which is characterized by the appearance of sores on the mouth and nails of cattle. The purpose of the activity is to control and prevent the spread of the FMD virus in cattle. The procedure for this activity is carried out according to the requirements for vaccination and the route of vaccination in cattle. The results of observations on 5 cattle farms in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra recorded 470 cattle, including 462 cattle that were given the FMD vaccine and 8 cattle that did not meet the requirements for FMD vaccination. FMD vaccination is given intramuscularly in the neck muscle area (musculus brachiocephalicus). FMD vaccination in cattle is given at a dose of 2 ml/head.
