Profil wajah merupakan aset penting saat mendiagnosis dan merencanakan perawatan ortodonti. Profil wajah dapat dianalisis menggunakan metode Ricketts dengan nilai ukur esthetic line (e-line). Remaja berada pada fase identity vs. role confusion, sehingga remaja lebih memperhatikan penampilan fisik termasuk profil wajah. Pada usia remaja awal (11 – 14 tahun), manusia mengalami percepatan pertumbuhan (growth spurt), hal ini mempengaruhi terjadinya kelainan profil wajah. Tingkat kesadaran remaja terhadap kondisi ini, serta dukungan orang tua, berperan dalam mengoptimalkan waktu ideal perawatan ortodonti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesadaran remaja dan orang tua terhadap kelainan profil wajah remaja dengan nilai ukur e-line. Penelitian ini melibatkan 85 remaja berusia 11–14 tahun di SDN 1 Mata Ie dan SMPN 1 Darul Imarah beserta orang tua atau wali mereka. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner tingkat kesadaran terhadap kelainan profil wajah remaja yang terdiri dari 10 pertanyaan, dengan hasil yang dikategorikan ke dalam tingkat kesadaran tinggi dan rendah menggunakan perhitungan rumus interval. Analisis foto klinis profil wajah dilakukan menggunakan software ImageJ, berdasarkan metode Ricketts yaitu dengan menghitung jarak Ls (Labrale Superior) dan Li (Labrale Inferior) terhadap e-line. Profil wajah diidentifikasi menjadi cembung, normal/lurus, dan cekung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesadaran terhadap kelainan profil wajah berada pada kategori tinggi, baik pada tingkat kesadaran remaja (74,1%) maupun tingkat kesadaran orang tua (91,8%).

Facial profile is an important asset to utilize when diagnosing and planning orthodontic treatment. Facial profile can be analyzed by the Ricketts method with the esthetic line (e-line) measurement value. Adolescent is a phase which commonly marked by identity vs. role confusion, therefore adolescents tend to pay more attention to physical appearance including facial profiles. In early adolescence (11-14 years old), human experience growth spurt which affects the occurrence of facial profile abnormalities. The level of adolescent awareness of this condition, as well as parental support, plays a role in optimizing the ideal time for orthodontic treatment. This study aimed to determine the level of awareness of adolescents and parents about adolescent facial profile abnormalities with e-line measurement values. This study involved 85 adolescents ranged by 11-14 years old at SDN 1 Mata Ie and SMPN 1 Darul Imarah including their parents or guardians. Data were obtained through an awareness level questionnaire on adolescent facial profile abnormalities consist of 10 questions, with the results categorized into high and low awareness levels measured by interval formula calculation. Clinical photos of facial profile were analized with ImageJ software, based on Ricketts analyzing method by calculating the distance of Ls (Labrale Superior) and Li (Labrale Inferior) to the e-line. Facial profile then classified into 3 categories as convex, normal/straight, and concave. The result shows that the level of awareness of facial profile abnormalities was high, both in adolescents (74,1%) and in parents (91,8%).
