ABSTRAK
Pesatnya perkembangan ekonomi dan pariwisata di Kota Banda Aceh mendorong peningkatan kebutuhan akan fasilitas akomodasi yang nyaman, efisien, dan representatif, khususnya dalam bentuk hotel bisnis. Namun, keterbatasan jumlah kamar hotel yang tersedia masih menjadi permasalahan utama, yang mengakibatkan tingginya permintaan yang tidak sebanding dengan ketersediaan akomodasi. Selain itu, banyak bangunan hotel yang belum sepenuhnya memanfaatkan potensi iklim tropis sehingga mengakibatkan tingginya konsumsi energi serta rendahnya kenyamanan termal.
Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan perancangan hotel bisnis dengan menerapkan konsep arsitektur tropis sebagai solusi adaptif terhadap iklim Banda Aceh. Pendekatan ini menitikberatkan pada optimalisasi pencahayaan alami, ventilasi silang, pemanfaatan vegetasi, serta penyesuaian orientasi bangunan untuk menciptakan kenyamanan termal dan efisiensi energi. Desain hotel ini juga memperhatikan fleksibilitas ruang, baik pada area kamar maupun fasilitas pendukung, sehingga mampu memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna yang beragam.
Kajian tapak, analisis kebutuhan ruang, serta studi banding terhadap hotel-hotel sejenis menjadi dasar dalam merumuskan konsep dan strategi desain. Diharapkan, perancangan hotel bisnis ini tidak hanya menjadi solusi atas kekurangan kamar di Banda Aceh, tetapi juga menghadirkan bangunan yang ramah lingkungan, hemat energi, dan mampu mendukung pertumbuhan sektor bisnis dan pariwisata secara berkelanjutan di kawasan urban kota Banda Aceh.

ABSTRACT The rapid growth of the economy and tourism in Banda Aceh has significantly increased the demand for comfortable, efficient, and representative accommodation facilities, particularly in the form of business hotels. However, the limited number of available hotel rooms remains a major issue, resulting in a supply-demand imbalance for accommodation. In addition, many existing hotels have not fully optimized the potential of the tropical climate, leading to high energy consumption and poor thermal comfort. To address these problems, this design project proposes a business hotel that applies tropical architectural principles as an adaptive solution to Banda Aceh’s climate. The design emphasizes the optimization of natural lighting, cross ventilation, the use of vegetation, and the proper building orientation to achieve thermal comfort and energy efficiency. The hotel layout also considers space flexibility, both in guest rooms and supporting facilities, to accommodate diverse user needs. Site analysis, space requirement studies, and comparative studies of similar hotels serve as the foundation for formulating the design concept and strategy. This business hotel is expected to not only provide a solution to the shortage of hotel rooms in Banda Aceh but also offer an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient design that supports sustainable business and tourism growth within the urban area of Banda Aceh.
