Perkembangan seni dan budaya di Kota Banda Aceh menunjukkan potensi besar dalam pengembangan fasilitas publik yang mendukung kreativitas masyarakat, khususnya di bidang musik. Namun, hingga saat ini, belum tersedia wadah representatif yang mampu menampung aktivitas edukasi, apresiasi, dan pertunjukan musik secara terpadu. Oleh karena itu, perancangan Pusat Musik di Kota Banda Aceh menjadi solusi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Pendekatan desain menggunakan tema Arsitektur Ekspresionisme, yang menekankan ekspresi emosional, bentuk bebas, dan permainan elemen arsitektural yang tidak kaku. Pendekatan ini dianggap mampu merepresentasikan dinamika dan kebebasan dalam bermusik, sekaligus memberikan identitas visual yang kuat terhadap bangunan. Metode perancangan melibatkan studi literatur, analisis tapak, dan pendekatan konsep desain berdasarkan fungsi, konteks lingkungan, serta karakter pengguna. Hasil perancangan menghasilkan sebuah pusat musik yang terdiri dari ruang pertunjukan, ruang latihan, studio rekaman, galeri musik, dan area publik yang saling terintegrasi secara harmonis. Dengan mengusung tema ekspresionisme, pusat musik ini diharapkan tidak hanya menjadi fasilitas penunjang aktivitas seni, tetapi juga ikon arsitektural baru di Kota Banda Aceh yang mampu menginspirasi generasi muda dalam berkarya.

The development of arts and culture in Banda Aceh shows significant potential for the establishment of public facilities that support community creativity, particularly in the field of music. However, there is currently no representative space that accommodates music-related activities such as education, appreciation, and performance in an integrated manner. Therefore, the design of a Music Center in Banda Aceh is proposed as a solution to fulfill this need. The design adopts the theme of Expressionist Architecture, which emphasizes emotional expression, free- form structures, and the dynamic use of architectural elements. This approach is considered suitable to reflect the spirit and freedom of musical expression, while also giving the building a strong visual identity. The design process involves literature studies, site analysis, and conceptual approaches based on function, environmental context, and user characteristics. The final design consists of performance spaces, rehearsal rooms, recording studios, a music gallery, and public areas that are harmoniously integrated. By embracing the expressionist theme, this music center is expected not only to serve as a functional facility for artistic activities but also to become a new architectural icon in Banda Aceh that inspires the younger generation to create and express themselves.
