 <note>ABSTRAK &#13;
Daun sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata Nees) memiliki banyak manfaat, &#13;
diantaranya  sebagai antimikroba.  Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus &#13;
(MRSA)  merupakan salah satu penyebab  infeksi nosokomial. Penelitian ini &#13;
bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak metanol daun sambiloto dalam &#13;
menghambat pertumbuhan MRSA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental yang &#13;
menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang dibagi menjadi 7 kelompok. &#13;
Kelompok perlakuan terdiri dari ekstrak metanol daun sambiloto dengan &#13;
konsentrasi 5%, 25%, 45%, 65%  dan 85%. Kelompok kontrol terdiri dari &#13;
carboxymethylcellulose 1% sebagai kontrol negatif dan vancomycin 30 µg sebagai &#13;
kontrol positif. Uji antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi cakram. Hasil uji &#13;
antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa  ekstrak metanol  daun sambiloto dengan &#13;
konsentrasi 5%, 25%, 45%, 65% dan 85% membentuk diameter zona hambat rata-&#13;
rata 11 ± 0,00 mm, 14,5 ± 0,58 mm, 16 ± 0,82 mm, 17 ± 0,00 mm dan 18,25 ± 0,50 &#13;
mm. Kontrol negatif menghasilkan zona hambat rata-rata 0 ± 0,00 mm dan kontrol &#13;
positif menghasilkan zona hambat rata-rata 20 ± 0,00 mm. Hasil uji ANOVA dan &#13;
uji lanjutan Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) pada taraf kritis 1% menunjukkan  ekstrak &#13;
metanol daun sambiloto dengan konsentrasi 5%, 25%, 45%, 65%  dan  85% &#13;
memiliki daya hambat  terhadap pertumbuhan MRSA yang berbeda sangat nyata &#13;
dibandingkan kontrol negatif.  Daya hambat ekstrak metanol daun  sambiloto &#13;
konsentrasi 5% dan 25% dapat menghambat pertumbuhan MRSA dengan kategori &#13;
lemah, sedangkan  konsentrasi  45%, 65%  dan  85%  dapat menghambat  dengan &#13;
kategori sedang. &#13;

ABSTRACT &#13;
King of bitter’s leaves (Andrographis paniculata Nees) have some of benefits, &#13;
the other one is as antimicrobial.  Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus &#13;
(MRSA) has caused nosocomial infection. This study aimed to find out influence of &#13;
king of bitter’s leaves methanol extract in inhibit the MRSA’s growth. Kind of this &#13;
study was experimental that used Completely Randomized Design. This study was &#13;
devided into  7  groups.  Treatment groups were consist of king of bitter’s leaves &#13;
methanol extract with consentration 5%, 25%, 45%, 65% and 85%. Control groups &#13;
were consist of carboxymethylcellulose 1% as negative control and vancomycin 30 &#13;
µg as positive control. Antibacterial test has been done by disc diffusion method. &#13;
The result of this test showed king of bitter’s leaves methanol extract with &#13;
consentration  5%, 25%, 45%, 65%  and  85%  formed avarage  inhibition zone &#13;
diameter 11 ± 0,00 mm, 14,5 ± 0,58 mm, 16 ± 0,82 mm, 17 ± 0,00 mm and 18,25 ± &#13;
0,50 mm. Negative and positive control formed average inhibition zone diameter 0 &#13;
± 0,00 mm and 20 ± 0,00 mm. The result from ANOVA and Tukey test for level 1% &#13;
found that king of bitter’s leaves methanol extract with consentration 5%, 25 %, &#13;
45%, 65% and 85% have very significant differences inhibiting ability to MRSA’s &#13;
growth in compared to negative control. King of bitter’s methanol extract leaves at &#13;
consentration 5% and 25% can inhibit the MRSA’s growth with weak categoty, &#13;
whereas consenstration 45%, 65% and 85% can inhibit with intermediate category.  &#13;
