Keanekaragaman spesies ikan air tawar di Provinsi Aceh merupakan aspek penting dalam ekosistem perairan dan memiliki peran vital dalam keberlanjutan lingkungan serta ekonomi lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat keanekaragaman jenis ikan, dan melihat status konservasi serta potensi ikan konsumsi dan ikan hias. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2024 bertempat di Sungai Celike Kawasan Ekosistem Leuser Aceh Timur Profinsi Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode jelajah (Explorative Purposive Sampling). Proses pengambilan sampel berdasarkan semua jenis hasil tangkapan. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan sebanyak 8 ordo yang termasuk dalam 8 famili, 132 individu dengan total 13 spesies. Cyprinidae merupakan famili yang mendominansi pada Sungai Celike yaitu sebesar 38% dengan jumlah 5 spesies. Hasil indeks keanekaragaman pada Sungai Celike yaitu 1.95 kategori sedang. Berdasarkan status ancaman daftar merah IUCN terdapat 4 katagori pada spesies ikan yang ditemukan pada perairan Sungai Celike diantaranya 10 spesies (77%) yang termasuk dalam katagori Least concern (LC, tidak mengkhawatirkan), 1 spesies (8%) termasuk dalam katagori Not Evaluated (NE, belum dievaluasi), 1 spesies (8%) termasuk dalam katagori Data Deficient (DD, minim informasi), 1 spesies (7%) termasuk dalam katagori Vulnerable (VU, rentan). Sebanyak 13 jenis ikan yang di koleksi terdapat 7 jenis ikan yang berpotensi di manfaatkan sebagai ikan konsumsi (K), terdapat 3 jenis ikan yang berpotensi sebagai ikan hias (H) serta 3 jenis ikan berpotensi sebagai ikan konsumsi dan ikan hias (K dan H).

The diversity of freshwater fish species in Aceh Province is an important aspect of the aquatic ecosystem and plays a vital role in environmental sustainability and the local economy. This study aims to analyze the level of fish species diversity, and to see the conservation status and potential of fish for consumption and ornamental fish. This study was conducted in July 2024 at the Celike River, Leuser Ecosystem Area, East Aceh, Aceh Province. This study used the Explorative Purposive Sampling Method. The sampling process was based on all types of catches. The results of this study found 8 orders included in 8 families, 132 individuals with a total of 13 species. Cyprinidae is the dominant family in the Celike River, which is 38% with 5 species. The results of the diversity index in the Celike River are 1.95 in the moderate category. Based on the IUCN red list threat status, there are 4 categories of fish species found in the waters of the Celike River, including 10 species (77%) included in the Least Concern (LC) category, 1 species (8%) included in the Not Evaluated (NE) category, 1 species (8%) included in the Data Deficient (DD) category, 1 species (7%) included in the Vulnerable (VU) category. Of the 13 types of fish collected, 7 types of fish have the potential to be used as food fish (K), 3 types of fish have the potential to be ornamental fish (H) and 3 types of fish have the potential to be food fish and ornamental fish (K and H).
