This study analyzes the relationship between money supply, economic growth, exchange rate, and trade openness to inflation in ASEAN countries. The data used in this study is panel data consisting of annual time series data in 1960-2023 and cross section data from ten ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Brunei Darussalam). By using Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) panel analysis model with lag 7,1,1,1,1, it is found that in the short run, money supply and trade openness variables have significant influence on inflation. However, in the long run, money supply and exchange rate have a positive and significant effect on inflation, while economic growth shows an insignificant positive effect. Trade openness also contributes positively and significantly to inflation in the long run. These findings suggest that inflation in ASEAN countries is affected by the dynamics of money supply and exchange rate, as well as the importance of trade openness in influencing the prices of goods and services. Therefore, it is recommended that ASEAN countries strengthen monetary and fiscal policies to control inflation, as well as improve domestic product competitiveness through market diversification and local industry development.
