 <note>Correlation of motivation for  achievement and  learning ways  with  learning achievement is the focus of this research. The contribution of motivation for achievement to learning achievement is divided in to three categories that is high, medium , and low.  This situation also applies to learning ways.  The tittle of this research is the correlation of motivation for achievement and learning ways with learning achievement of students at the teacher training and education faculty of Syiah Kuala University. The objective of this research is to find out how strong is the correlation of motivation, learning ways, both in separated and combined parts, with learning achievemet of students majoring  Mathematics teaching at the Teacher Training and Education Faculty of  Syiah Kuala University. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with qualitative approach. The data were collected by using a set of questionnaire and documentation term of student's GPA. The data were analyzed by using product moment correlation calculated in SPSS software. The hypothesis of this research are that motivation for achievement has significant relation to  learning achievement, learning ways  also has significant relation to learning achievement, and both motivation for achievement and learning ways are significantly related to learning achievement.  The population of this research is Student at the Teacher Training an Education Faculty of Syiah Kuala University and the sample is students at Mathematics Departement enrolled in academic year of&#13;
2006/2007. There were 88 students selected ramdomly. The research result show that&#13;
motivation for achievement has significant relation to learning achievement with&#13;
correlation coefficient of 0.449  and regression equation of y= 0.086o+o.02S xl.&#13;
Learning ways also has significant relation to learning achievement with correlation&#13;
coefficient of0.394 and regression equation of y =1.055 +0.022 302. Both motivation for achievement and learning ways are significantly related to learning achievement&#13;
with correlation coefficient of0.48 and regression equation of y = 0.428 +0.019x1 +&#13;
0.012x2.&#13;
