 <note>This  study   is  focused  on  the difficulties  faced   by the  third year  students  in comprehending reading texts  on National Examination. The purpose of this study is to  find out the  most  difficult genre of reading texts for  the third year  students in  reading section of the National Examination and find out the most difficult ill faced  by the third  year  students in comprehending the reading texts of the National Examination. The research  is conducted at SMP Negeri 10 Banda Aceh, the average  number of students for  each class  was about 0 persons. The  class  IX-F is as the sample who consist of 24 students, 6 students  were absent at  that time  The  method used in this study was descriptive qualitative method. The writer used the test and the questionnaire as the instruments  of this study. The test consisted of 50 questions of&#13;
Reading section on National Examination  2009/2010. According to the answers of  students' paper sheet, descriptive is the most difficult genre. It is accordance with the  result of questionnaire  who  declared  that the most  difficult genre is  descriptive, because the vocabulary and  the structure of descriptive text are really complicated  for the students.  In  &#13;
 addition,  the most  difficult sub skill  is  main  idea  Because this  sub skill needs detail analysis in understanding the point of the text.&#13;
