Organ gigi dan mulut memiliki peran vital dalam mendukung fungsi dasar hidup manusia seperti pencernaan, komunikasi, dan estetika. Namun, meskipun kesadaran akan kesehatan gigi dan mulut ini kian dibutuhkan, Kota Banda Aceh masih menghadapi tantangan yang serius terkait persoalan ini. Data menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam jumlah masalah gigi dan mulut di Banda Aceh selama 3 tahun belakang. Seiring dengan melonjaknya masalah gigi dan mulut di Banda Aceh, kebutuhan akan fasilitas pelayanan yang profesional, cepat, dan menyeluruh juga semakin tinggi.
Perancangan Rumah Sakit Gigi dan Mulut (RSGM) ini hadir untuk menjawab kebutuhan tersebut. Fasilitas ini dirancang secara khusus sebagai pusat layanan kesehatan yang modern, fokus, dan mampu memberikan pelayanan unggulan di bidang kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Rumah sakit ini ditujukan untuk melayani masyarakat umum dengan sistem operasional yang fleksibel. Dukungan tenaga profesional juga dihadirkan agar penanganan berbagai kondisi pasien dapat dilakukan secara optimal.
Mengusung tema arsitektur holistik, rancangan ini berupaya menciptakan lingkungan penyeembuhan yang menyatu secara harmonis antara aspek fisik, psikologis, dan emosional. Elemen-elemen pembentuk tema seperti penggunaan void di tengah bangunan, bentuk oval sebagai simbul keutuhan, integrasi dengan alam, serta keseimbangan aksial bangunan menjadi wujud pendekatan desain yang mempertimbangkan kenyamanan pasien secara menyeluruh. Melalui pendekatan ini, rumah sakit tidak hanya menjadi tempat berobat, tetapi juga ruang pemulihan yang manusiawi dan bermakna.

Teeth and oral organs play an important role in supporting basic human life functions such as digestion, communication, and aesthetics. However, although awareness of dental and oral health is increasingly needed, Banda Aceh City still faces serious challenges related to this issue. Data shows a significant increase in the number of dental and oral problems in Banda Aceh over the past 3 years. Along with the increasing number of dental and oral problems in Banda Aceh, the need for professional, fast, and comprehensive service facilities is also increasing. The design of the Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM) is here to answer these needs. This facility is specifically designed as a modern health service center that is focused and able to provide excellent service in the field of dental and oral health. This hospital is intended to serve the general public with a flexible operational system. Support from professional staff is also provided so that the handling of various patient conditions can be carried out optimally. Carrying the theme of holistic architecture, this design seeks to create a healing environment that harmoniously combines physical, psychological, and emotional aspects. Elements that form the theme such as the use of voids in the middle of the building, the oval shape as a symbol of integrity, integration with nature, and the axial balance of the building are forms of design approaches that consider patient comfort as a whole. Through this approach, the hospital becomes not only a place of treatment, but also a humane and meaningful recovery space. Keywords: Hospital, Dental and Oral, Holistic Architecture
