ABSTRAK Penggunaan pemodelan PROBE dapat memberikan hasil yang baik dalam menganalisis nilai suhu dan salinitas di Laut Andaman dengan memanfaatkan data NCEP sebagai data inputnya. Hasil pemodelan menunjukkan suhu rata – rata pada pemukaan Laut Andaman berkisar 24° – 31°C, dengan puncak suhu tertinggi terjadi pada bulan April – Mei (30,5° – 32°C) dan puncak suhu terendah terjadi pada bulan Januari – Desember (24° – 25°C). Nilai suhu dan salinitas secara time series pada tiga lokasi di permukaan Laut Andaman memberikan hasil dengan nilai yang sedikit berbeda di lokasi satu pada tahun 2000 dan 2003, sementara itu pada tahun lainnya trend suhu dan salinitas dari ketiga lokasi relatif memiliki nilai yang sama. Dari hasil penelitian maka dapat dilihat bahwa suhu dan salinitas Laut Andaman memiliki karakteristik yang relatif sama di semua lokasi yang diteliti. Kata Kunci: Laut Andaman, NCEP, suhu, salinitas, Model PROBE. ABTRACT PROBE modeling is reliable in analyzing the temperature and salinity at the Andaman Sea with forcing the NCEP data as it input. The results shows that, average temperature in the surface of the Andaman Sea have a value off 24° – 31°C, with the highest peak occurred in April - May (30,5° – 32°C) and the lowest peak occurs in January - December (24° – 25°C). The time series value of temperature and salinity at three locations in the surface of Andaman Sea give slightly different results at location one during 2000 and 2003, in other years the trend of temperature and salinity at those three locations are relatively have the same values. From the results it can be seen that the Andaman Sea have similar characteristics at all locations.
