Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kepatuhan masyarakat Kota Banda Aceh terhadap bahasa larangan di ruang publik dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah masyarakat di Kota Banda Aceh. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara pengamatan terkait tingkat kepatuhan masyarakat Kota Banda Aceh terhadap bahasa larangan di ruang publik. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) masyarakat kota Banda Aceh tidak patuh terhadap bahasa larangan yang terdapat di jalan raya, (2) masyarakat kota Banda Aceh patuh terhadap aturan yang berlaku di rumah ibadah, (3) masyarakat kota Banda Aceh kurang patuh terhadap layanan umum di sekitar. Selanjutnya berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dianalisis, klasifikasi bentuk kepatuhan yang dimiliki masyarakat Kota Banda Aceh yaitu kurang patuh. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan adanya beberapa masyarakat yang tidak mematuhi aturan yang berlaku terhadap bahasa larangan yang tertulis dan simbol di ruang publik. Bentuk ketidakpatuhan yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu ketidakpatuhan terhadap larangan parkir, menerobos lampu merah.

This research aims to describe the level of compliance of the people of Banda Aceh City towards prohibited language in public spaces using qualitative descriptive methods. The subjects of this research are the people of Banda Aceh City. Data was collected by observing the level of compliance of the people of Banda Aceh City towards prohibited language in public spaces. Data collection techniques include observation and interviews. The results of the research show (1) the people of the city of Banda Aceh do not comply with the language of prohibitions on the roads, (2) the people of the city of Banda Aceh comply with the rules that apply in places of worship, (3) the people of the city of Banda Aceh do not comply with public services in around. Furthermore, based on the research results that have been analyzed, the classification of forms of compliance that the people of Banda Aceh City have is less obedient. This is proven by the existence of several people who do not comply with the rules that apply to prohibited written language and symbols in public spaces. The most common forms of non-compliance are non-compliance with parking restrictions, running red lights. Keywords: Compliance, Prohibited Language, Public Space
