Komunikasi orang tua dan anak memiliki peranan yang cukup penting untuk menumbuhkan
nila-nilai dan moral dalam menghindari perilaku menyimpang remaja seperti perilaku seks
pada pergaulan remaja. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui komunikasi
interpersonal yang terjalin antara orang tua dan anak dalam mencegah perilaku seks pada
remaja di kota Banda Aceh. Adapun teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori
Coordinated Management Of Meaning yang di kemukakan oleh W Barnet & venon Cronen.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik
pengumpulan data melalui wawancara semiterstruktur dengan 3 orang tua yang berdomisili di
kota Banda Aceh dan memili anak yang berusia remaja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa
komunikasi interpersonal antara orang tua dan anak di kota Banda Aceh di lihat dari efektivitas
komunikasi yang meliputi : 1) Keterbukaan. Orang tua di kota Banda Aceh memperlihatkan
keterbukaan dengan cara memberikan pemahaman tentang bagaimana perilaku seks di
kalangan remaja, informasi mengenai bagaimana dampak dari perilaku seks di kalangan remaja
seperti hamil di luar nikah, terinfeksi penyakit menular, hingga pendidikan yang kandas. 2)
Empati. Orang tua mampu mengetahui apa keinginan anaknya dimasa yang akan datang
dengan cara dengan menuruti keinginan anaknya agar terhindar dari perilaku seks bebas. 3).
Sikap mendukung. Orang tua mendukung anaknya dengan cara memberikan motivasi kepada
anaknya. 4). Sikap positif. Orang tua tidak ada kecurigaan terhadap anaknya namun juga tidak
membiarkan anaknya begitu saja orang tua tetap memantau atau mengawasi anaknya. 5).
Kesetaraan. Orang tua tidak pernah membeda-bedakan anaknya baik perempuan maupun lakilaki.

This study is entitled The Role of Interpersonal Communication Between Parents and Children in Preventing Free Sex in Teenagers' Socialization in Banda Aceh City. Communication between parents and children has a fairly important role in fostering values and morals in avoiding deviant behavior in adolescents such as free sex in adolescent socialization. This study aims to determine the role of interpersonal communication between parents and children in preventing free sex in adolescents in Banda Aceh City. The theory used in this study is the Coordinated Management Of Meaning theory put forward by W Barnet & Venon Cronen which is useful in encouraging communication patterns that improve the quality of daily life for everyone. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data collection technique was through semi-structured interviews with 3 parent informants who live in Banda Aceh City, have teenage children, live in the same house with their teenage children, and who have succeeded in preventing free sex for their children. The results of the study indicate that the role of interpersonal communication between parents and children in Banda Aceh City is seen from the effectiveness of communication which includes: 1) Openness. Parents in Banda Aceh city show openness by providing an understanding of how sexual behavior among teenagers, information about the impact of sexual behavior among teenagers such as getting pregnant outside of marriage, being infected with infectious diseases, to failed education. 2) Empathy. Parents are able to know what their children want in the future by following their children's wishes to avoid free sex. 3). Supportive attitude. Parents support their children by motivating their children. 4). Positive attitude. Parents are not suspicious of their children but also do not just let their children be, parents continue to monitor or supervise their children. 5). Equality. Such as having the same point of view, attitude, age, and ideology. It can be concluded that parents need to build an effective interpersonal communication role with their children so that they can easily convey messages about the good and bad of sexual freedom among teenagers.
