This study aims at examining whether the use of Audio Lingual Method through dialog &#13;
memorization technique improves students’ listening skill or not. This study focused on &#13;
the use of Audio Lingual Method through dialog memorization technique in teaching &#13;
listening skill for second grade students at MTsS Ulumul Qur’an Banda Aceh. &#13;
Quantitative approach with  one group pre test-  post test design was undertaken to &#13;
overcome the problems faced by students in learning listening skill. The instrument used &#13;
to collect  the data in this study by means of the test in the form of written test. This &#13;
research was analyzed by using t-test formula. The calculation result showed that &#13;
observed  t-score value is higher than critical value of t-table (18.12 &gt; 2.03). It means &#13;
that alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. The result of this study revealed there is a &#13;
significant increase related to the students’ ability in listening skill. Thus, Audio Lingual &#13;
Method through dialog memorization technique can be one of alternative technique used &#13;
by the teacher in teaching English particularly teaching listening in EFL class.</note>
