Pelecehan seksual di Indonesia terus meningkat, terutama pelecehan fisik dan non fisik, seperti dilaporkan CATAHU Komnas Perempuan 2023. Hal ini berdampak psikologis, fisiologis, dan sosial bagi penyintas. Peningkatan kasus ini mendorong kampanye anti pelecehan, salah satunya melalui film Penyalin Cahaya, yang mengisahkan perjuangan Suryani mencari keadilan atas pelecehan seksual di kampus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi pembungkaman terhadap Suryani dalam film Penyalin Cahaya menggunakan semiotika John Fiske, yang terbagi ke dalam tiga level: realitas, representasi, dan ideologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode dokumentasi dan data diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling serta dianalisis pada lima scene. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga dari lima bentuk representasi pembungkaman terdapat dalam lima scene, yaitu pembungkaman melalui kontrol terhadap penyintas, intimidasi fisik, dan penyebaran data pribadi (doxing). Level realitas menunjukkan kode gesture (gerak tangan menunjuk dan indikasi kebohongan), kode speech (gaya komunikasi mengontrol dan agresif), kode dress (pakaian formal dengan warna biru) dan kode behaviour (respon objek pada lingkungannya). Level representasi menunjukkan kode dialogue (kalimat bermakna implisit dan eksplisit), kode action (intimidasi fisik dan doxing), kode camera (medium shot, over the shoulder, close up, wide shot), lighting (key light, hard light). Level ideologi menunjukkan adanya ideologi kepemimpinan otoriter (kepercayaan bahwa pemikirannya mutlak benar dan harus diterapkan untuk mencapai tujuan organisasi), kelas sosial (keyakinan tentang pengelompokan masyarakat berdasarkan kekuasaan dan kekayaan) dan patriarki (sistem sosial yang menjadikan laki-laki sebagai otoritas utama dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan).

Sexual harassment in Indonesia continues to rise, particularly physical and non-physical harassment, as reported by CATAHU Komnas Perempuan 2023. This has psychological, physiological, and social impacts on survivors. The increase in cases has prompted anti-harassment campaigns, one of which is the film Penyalin Cahaya, which tells the story of Suryani's struggle for justice against sexual harassment on campus. This research aims to analyze the representation of silencing towards Suryani in the film Penyalin Cahaya using John Fiske's semiotics, which is divided into three levels: reality, representation, and ideology. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using documentation methods, with data obtained through purposive sampling and analyzed across five scenes. The results indicate that three out of five forms of representation of silencing are present in the five scenes, namely silencing through control over survivors, physical intimidation, and personal data dissemination (doxing). The reality level shows codes of gesture (pointing hand and indications of lying), codes of speech (controlling and aggressive communication styles), codes of dress (formal clothing in blue), and codes of behavior (responses of objects to their environment). The representation level reveals codes of dialogue (implicitly and explicitly meaningful sentences), codes of action (physical intimidation and doxing), codes of camera (medium shot, over the shoulder, close-up, wide shot), and lighting (key light, hard light). The ideology level indicates the presence of authoritarian leadership ideology (the belief that one’s thinking is absolutely correct and must be applied to achieve organizational goals), social class (beliefs about societal grouping based on power and wealth), and patriarchy (a social system that positions men as the primary authority in various aspects of life).
