Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan terhadap desainer fashion. Transformasi yang dialami oleh desainer fashion dari metode desain konvensional ke penggunaan teknologi desain digital menjadi fokus utama dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mendorong peralihan tersebut, serta mengevaluasi pemanfaatan dan efisiensi aplikasi digital dalam proses desain fashion. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan desainer fashion yang tergabung dalam aosiasi IFC (Indonesia Fashion Chamber) chapter Aceh yang telah beralih ke penggunaan aplikasi digital, observasi langsung proses desain, serta analisis dokumen terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desainer fashion memilih untuk beralih ke aplikasi digital karena beberapa alasan utama, antara lain: kemudahan dalam modifikasi desain, efisiensi waktu, dan berbagai fitur yang dapat mempersingkat proses pengerjaan. Selain itu, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa aplikasi digital memungkinkan desainer untuk menghasilkan prototipe virtual yang akurat dan realistis, sehingga mengurangi biaya produksi sampel fisik. Efisiensi penggunaan aplikasi digital juga tercermin dari peningkatan produktivitas dan kualitas desain yang dihasilkan. Namun, tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi kurva belajar untuk menguasai teknologi baru serta biaya lisensi perangkat lunak yang cukup tinggi. Secara keseluruhan, transformasi desainer fashion dari metode konvensional ke digital memberikan manfaat yang signifikan, meskipun juga menghadirkan tantangan tersendiri. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa dengan pelatihan yang tepat dan investasi dalam teknologi, desainer fashion dapat mengoptimalkan potensi aplikasi digital untuk menciptakan karya-karya yang inovatif dan berkualitas tinggi.

The transformation experienced by fashion designers from conventional design methods to the use of digital design technology is the main focus of this research. This study aims to identify the factors driving this transition and to evaluate the utilization and efficiency of digital applications in the fashion design process. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with fashion designers who are members of the IFC (Indonesia Fashion Chamber) Aceh chapter who have transitioned to using digital applications, direct observation of the design process, and analysis of related documents. The research results show that fashion designers choose to switch to digital applications for several main reasons, including: ease of design modification, time efficiency, and various features that can shorten the work process. Additionally, this study found that digital applications enable designers to produce accurate and realistic virtual prototypes, thereby reducing the cost of physical sample production. The efficiency of using digital applications is also reflected in the increased productivity and quality of the designs produced. However, challenges faced include the learning curve to master new technology and the relatively high software licensing costs. Overall, the transformation of fashion designers from conventional to digital methods provides significant benefits, though it also presents its own challenges. This study concludes that with proper training and investment in technology, fashion designers can optimize the potential of digital applications to create innovative and high-quality works.
