Motif ukiran Aceh yang kaya akan nilai sejarah dan budaya, menghadapi tantangan untuk tetap relevan di tengah perkembangan teknologi dan tren fashion modern. Penerapan teknik Rouleaux trim pada outer dengan aplikasi motif ukiran aceh menjadi solusi inovatif untuk melestarikan motif ukiran tradisional aceh dan juga meningkatkan daya saing produk lokal di pasar fashion. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang desain motif ukiran Aceh pada outer, membuat outer, dan untuk mengetahui tanggapan responden terhadap produk outer dengan aplikasi motif ukiran Aceh dengan teknik rouleaux trim. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari mahasiswa Tata Busana PKK FKIP USK angkatan 2020, 2021, dan 2022 sebanyak 229 mahasiswa. Sampel ditentukan dengan simple random sampling dari populasi, sebanyak 69 Responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan desain dua model outer dengan mempertimbangkan unsur dan prinsip desain. Outer model pertama dirancang dengan potongan yang menonjol pada pinggang dan siku lengan, dipadukan dengan kerutan yang menambah dimensi pada potongan tersebut. Desain ini menggunakan kerah setali dan ban pada ujung lengan, serta mengaplikasikan motif taloe ie, awan meucanek, bungoeng sagoe, bungoeng meulu, dan bungoeng ayu-ayu melalui teknik rouleaux trim. Tanggapan responded menunjukan bahwa 64,91% sangat menyukai model outer ini, yang dianggap unggul dalam pengaplikasian motif ukiran Aceh yang lebih elegan serta penggunaan bahan yang lebih sesuai. Outer model kedua dirancang sebagai outer crop, menampilkan renda meteran yang menghiasi bagian tengah depan hingga belakang. Lengan puff dirancang dengan kerutan di pangkal lengan/bahu dan ruffle di ujung lengan, serta mengaplikasikan motif bungoeng sagoe, bungoeng seulepok, awan meucanek, dan bungoeng ayu-ayu, yang dikerjakan menggunakan teknik rouleaux trim. Tanggapan responden menunjukkan bahwa 54,39% sangat menyukai outer model kedua, dengan keunggulan pada bentuk motif yang diaplikasikan.

Aceh carving motifs, which are rich in historical and cultural values, face the challenge of remaining relevant amidst technological developments and modern fashion trends. The application of the Rouleaux trim technique on the outer with the application of Aceh carving motifs is an innovative solution to preserve traditional Aceh carving motifs and also increase the competitiveness of local products in the fashion market. This research aims to design Aceh carving motifs on the outer, make the outer, and to find out the respondents' responses to the outer product with the application of Aceh carving motifs with the rouleaux trim technique. The research method used was experimental with a quantitative approach. The research population consisted of 229 students of the 2020, 2021, and 2022 batches of PKK Fashion Management students. The sample was determined by simple random sampling from the population, totalling 69 respondents. The results showed the design of two outer models by considering the elements and principles of design. The first outer model is designed with a prominent cut at the waist and elbow of the arm, combined with wrinkles that add dimension to the cut. This design uses a set collar and a tyre at the end of the sleeve, and applies the taloe ie, meucanek cloud, bungoeng sagoe, bungoeng meulu, and bungoeng ayu-ayu motifs through the rouleaux trim technique. The response showed that 64.91% really liked this outer model, which was considered superior in the application of more elegant Acehnese carving motifs and the use of more suitable materials. The second outer model was designed as a crop outer, featuring metered lace that adorns the centre front to the back. The puff sleeves were designed with ruffles at the base of the sleeves/shoulders and ruffles at the ends of the sleeves, and applied the motifs of bungoeng sagoe, bungoeng seulepok, awan meucanek, and bungoeng ayu-ayu, which were done using the rouleaux trim technique. The respondents' responses showed that 54.39% really liked the second outer model, with an advantage in the shape of the applied motifs.
