Ikan kakap putih memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi, baik dalam memenuhi konsumsi mulai dari dalam hingga luar negeri. Permasalahan yang sering dihadapi oleh pembudidaya ikan kakap putih adalah terjadinya perubahan kualitas air saat proses transportasi yang dapat menyebabkan ikan stres sehingga tingkat kelangsungan hidup benih ikan menjadi rendah. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah penambahan bahan tertentu ke wadah pengemasan seperti tablet Propack. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tablet Propack terhadap tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan tingkah laku benih ikan kakap putih dengan kepadatan yang berbeda serta kualitas air dalam wadah pengemasan selama transportasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 17 Mei 2024 di lingkungan Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 kali ulangan yaitu P0= kepadatan 50 ekor (kontrol), P1= kepadatan 50 ekor + 50 ppm tablet propack, P2= kepadatan 65 ekor + 50 ppm tablet propack, P3= kepadatan 80 ekor + 50 ppm tablet propack, dan P4= kepadatan 95 ekor + 50 ppm tablet propack dengan lama transportasi 30 jam. White snapper has a high economic value, both in meeting consumption ranging from domestic to foreign. The problem that is often faced by white snapper fish farmers is the occurrence of changes in water quality during the transportation process which can cause fish stress so that the survival rate of fish seeds becomes low. One of the efforts that can be made is the addition of certain materials to packaging containers such as Propack tablets. This study aims to determine the effect of Propack tablets on the survival rate and behavior of white snapper fish seeds with different densities and water quality in packaging containers during transportation. This research was conducted on May 17, 2024 at the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Syiah Kuala University. This study used an experimental method with a complete randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replicates, namely P0 = density of 50 fish (control), P1 = density of 50 fish + 50 ppm propack tablets, P2 = density of 65 fish + 50 ppm propack tablets, P3 = density of 80 fish + 50 ppm propack tablets, and P4 = density of 95 fish + 50 ppm propack tablets with a transportation time of 30 hours. The test fish used were 5-6 cm in size. The provision of propack tablets has a significant effect (P < 0.05) on the survival rate of white snapper fish seeds with different densities, but has no effect on the survival rate of white snapper fish seeds with high density. The highest percentage of survival rate is found in P1 (density of 50 fish + 50 ppm propack tablet) which is 78.5%. The best behavioral observation results from all treatments based on scoring values were also found in P1, namely less responsive fish and few deaths followed by observations on water quality parameters; temperature (27.6°C), DO (3.4 mg/L), ammonia (0.62 ppm), and water pH (5.23).
