Skripsi ini berjudul “Komunikasi Kebencanaan Melalui Tugu Edukasi Tsunami”, penelitian ini secara khusus bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi seberapa efektif tugu edukasi tsunami yang berada di Lam Teungoh dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat akan bahaya tsunami. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini berupaya menggali secara mendalam persepsi masyarakat mengenai tugu tersebut. Melalui metode wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipatif, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa tugu edukasi tsunami di Lam Teungoh berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan risiko bencana tsunami. Namun, masih terdapat beberapa kendala dalam hal pemahaman masyarakat terhadap simbol-simbol yang terdapat pada tugu, serta kurangnya keterlibatan masyarakat dalam kegiatan pemeliharaan tugu. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan agar pemerintah daerah bekerja sama dengan masyarakat untuk mengembangkan program edukasi yang lebih intensif dan berkelanjutan, serta melibatkan masyarakat dalam proses pemeliharaan tugu.

This thesis is entitled "Disaster Communication Through Tsunami Education Monument", this study specifically aims to evaluate how effective the tsunami education monument in Lam Teungoh is in raising public awareness of the dangers of tsunamis. Using a qualitative approach, this study attempts to deeply explore public perceptions of the monument. Through in-depth interview methods and participatory observation, this study found that the tsunami education monument in Lam Teungoh has succeeded in increasing public awareness of the risk of tsunami disasters. However, there are still several obstacles in terms of public understanding of the symbols on the monument, as well as the lack of community involvement in monument maintenance activities. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that the local government work together with the community to develop more intensive and sustainable education programs, and involve the community in the monument maintenance process.
