Kecerdasan buatan atau Artificial Intelligence biasa disebut AI merupakan teknologi robot yang meniru mahluk hidup atau benda mati untuk membantu kehidupan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh AI bagi industri kreatif khususnya ilustrasi digital, serta melihat tantangan dan peluang terhadap ilustrasi digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan teori evolusi sosial Herbert Spencer, dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi pada Komunitas Apotek Warenua. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa AI masuk kedalam dunia ilustrasi untuk membantu mewujudkan kreatifitas manusia yang terbatas, meningkatkan produktifitas dan efisiensi bagi para ilustrator. Kemunculan AI memungkinkan masyarakat tanpa latar belakang seni dapat membuat ilustrasi. Umumnya yang menggunakan AI untuk ilustrasi adalah masyarakat awam seni dan anak muda (gen milenial dan gen Z) karena anak muda sangat dekat dengan media informasi, dan mereka mudah terpengaruh oleh konten yang tersebar di media sosial. Kelebihan AI dalam ilustrasi yaitu, kemudahan akses, murah, cepat, dan hasil generate yang banyak. Selain kelebihan terdapat juga kekurangannya yakni, kurang interaksi dan komunikasi, membutuhkan teknik deskripsi yang jelas, hasil ilustrasi yang cenderung seragam, dan hilangnya esensi ruh atau jiwa dalam karya yang dihasilkan AI. Teknologi AI yang awalnya digunakan untuk membantu manusia seiring ramainya pengguna AI dalam membuat ilustrasi memberikan tantangan dan ancaman pekerjaan para ilustrator digital, tantangan ini dapat berupa, AI menjadi tren di masyarakat, pandangan masyarakat terhadap ilustrasi berubah, penurunan jasa permintaan ilustrator, dan penggunaan AI dalam jangka waktu yang lama dapat mengurangi kreatifitas. Selain ancaman, AI juga memberikan peluang pada ilustrator digital seperti eksplorasi ide, efesiensi, peluang kerja AI promter, serta kolaborasi AI dan ilustrator agar menghasilkan hasil ilustrasi yang modern. Kolaborasi ini dilakukan agar para ilustrator tetap bertahan hidup di era teknologi AI.

Artificial intelligence, usually called AI, is robotic technology that imitates living creatures or inanimate objects to help human life. This research aims to examine the influence of AI on the creative industry, especially digital illustration, as well as looking at the challenges and opportunities for digital illustration. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research results be analyzed using Herbert Spencer's theory of social evolution, with data collection methods through interviews, observation and documentation at the Warenua Pharmacy Community. The research results show that AI is entering the world of illustration to help realize limited human creativity, increasing productivity and efficiency for illustrators. With AI, it is possible for people without an art background to create illustrations. Generally, those who use AI for illustration are ordinary art people and young people (millennials and gen z) because young people are very close to information media, and they are easily influenced by content spread on social media. The advantages of AI in illustration are, easy access, cheap, fast, and generates a lot of results. Apart from the advantages, there are also disadvantages, namely, lack of interaction and communication, requiring clear description techniques, illustration results that tend to be uniform, and the loss of the essence of spirit or spirit in the work produced by AI. AI technology, which was originally used to help humans, along with the increasing number of AI users in creating illustrations, presents challenges and threats to the work of digital illustrators. These challenges can be, AI becoming a trend in society, society's view of illustration changing, a decline in demand for illustrator services, and the use of AI in Long periods of time can reduce creativity. Apart from threats, AI also provides opportunities for digital illustrators such as idea exploration, efficiency, AI programming job opportunities, as well as collaboration between AI and illustrators to produce modern illustration results.
