This research aim to reveal the differences in the ability of speaking after  the &#13;
application of role play technique to senior high school students of SMA 8 Banda &#13;
Aceh. The research used an experimental study design. The hypothesis of this &#13;
research are: (1) Ha: Role play technique improve students’ ability in mastering &#13;
speaking aspect in the context of pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and &#13;
comprehension. (2) H&#13;
o&#13;
: Role play technique doesn’t improve student ability  in &#13;
mastering speaking aspect in the context of pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, &#13;
fluency, and comprehension.  The data was analyzed by using quantitative technique &#13;
and T-formula. Research population is the students of SMA 8 Banda Aceh. The &#13;
samples of this study are second grade students. The data on this study was analyzed &#13;
by using T-formula to find out the T-score. After several treatments had done, the &#13;
researcher found the improvements of students speaking ability in the aspects of &#13;
speaking context. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H&#13;
a) was accepted and the &#13;
Null hypothesis (Ho&#13;
) was rejected. Its means that  teaching speaking by using role &#13;
play technique improved student’ ability in mastering speaking</note>
