Kecemasan komunikasi seringkali menjadi masalah mendasar yang menghambat individu ketika terlibat dalam interaksi sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecemasan komunikasi terhadap interaksi sosial disosiatif pada mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Syiah Kuala. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori kecemasan komunikasi (Communication Apprehension Theory) yang dikemukakan oleh James C. McCroskey, teori ini menekankan bahwa kecemasan komunikasi dapat mempengaruhi perilaku dan kinerja seseorang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif eksplanatif. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan melakukan survei menggunakan Google Form, yang disebarkan kepada 100 orang responden. Sampel pada penelitian ini dipilih menggunakan teknik Accidental Sampling. Karakteristik sampel yaitu mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Syiah Kuala dan mahasiswa yang pernah atau sedang mengalami kecemasan komunikasi, yang dikonfirmasikan dengan screening question. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh hasil nilai thitung lebih besar dari nilai ttabel (3,775 > 1,660) dengan koefisien determinasi 0,127 maka kecemasan komunikasi berpengaruh terhadap interaksi sosial disosiatif pada mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Syiah Kuala sebesar 12,7%. Berdasarkan jawaban responden pada variabel kecemasan komunikasi, dimensi uncontrol berkontribusi lebih besar dari dua dimensi lainnya yaitu unwillingness dan avoiding. Sedangkan pada variabel interaksi sosial disosiatif, dimensi kontravensi berkontribusi lebih besar dari dua dimensi lainnya yaitu dimensi persaingan dan dimensi pertentangan. Dari hasil tersebut dapat diasumsikan bahwa mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Syiah Kuala cenderung memiliki kontrol diri yang rendah terutama pada saat diharuskan untuk berbicara di depan umum juga mereka memiliki kecenderungan untuk menyembunyikan perasaan tidak suka terhadap orang lain. Hasil perhitungan regresi linear menunjukkan bahwa nilai b = 0,331 dan taraf signifikansi 0,000. Angka 0,331 menunjukkan pengaruh yang positif. Disimpulkan bahwa kecemasan komunikasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap interaksi sosial disosiatif pada mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Syiah Kuala. Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi kecemasan komunikasi maka semakin tinggi interaksi sosial disosiatif pada mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Syiah Kuala.

Communication apprehension is often an underlying issue that hinders individuals when engaging in social interactions. This study aims to determine the influence of communication apprehension on disassociative social interaction among Communication Science students at Syiah Kuala University. This research employs the Communication Apprehension Theory proposed by James C. McCroskey, which emphasizes that communication apprehension can affect an individual's behavior and performance. This study uses an explanatory quantitative research method. Research data was obtained through a survey using Google Forms, which was distributed to 100 respondents. The sample in this study was selected using the Accidental Sampling technique. The sample characteristics are Communication Science students at Syiah Kuala University who have or are currently experiencing communication apprehension, which is confirmed by a screening question. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, the calculated t-value is greater than the tabulated t-value (3.775 > 1.660) with a coefficient of determination of 0.127, indicating that communication apprehension has an influence on disassociative social interaction among Communication Science students at Syiah Kuala University by 12.7%. Based on the respondents' answers on the communication apprehension variable, the uncontrol dimension contributes more than the other two dimensions, namely unwillingness and avoiding. Meanwhile, in the disassociative social interaction variable, the contravention dimension contributes more than the other two dimensions, namely the competition and conflict dimensions. From these results, it can be assumed that Communication Science students at Syiah Kuala University tend to have low selfcontrol, especially when they are required to speak in public, and they also tend to hide their dislike for others. The results of linear regression calculations show that the value of b = 0.331 and the significance level is 0.000. The number 0.331 indicates a positive influence. It is concluded that communication apprehension has a positive and significant effect on disassociative social interaction among Communication Science students at Syiah Kuala University. This means that the higher the communication apprehension, the higher the disassociative social interaction among Communication Science students at Syiah Kuala University.
