ABSTRAK

Karakter masyarakat Aceh pada zaman sekarang sudah mengalami penurunan akibat perkembangan teknologi. Masyarakat Aceh cenderung lebih egois dan individualis. Oleh karena itu, betapa pentingnya peneliti mengangkat dan membahas mengenai karakter sosial di dalam kehidupan masyarakat Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan bentuk karakter sosial masyarakat Aceh dalam Hikayat Ranto karya Leube Isa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah bait-bait hikayat yang mengandung karakter sosial masyarakat Aceh dalam Hikayat Ranto karya Leube Isa. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik kajian pustaka. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat delapan bentuk karakter sosial yang ada pada masyarakat Aceh dalam Hikayat Ranto karya Leube Isa, yaitu (1) peduli sosial, (2) tanggung jawab, (3) kebersamaan, (4) menghormati, (5) pengabdian, (6) cinta damai, (7) disiplin, dan (8) empati. Pertama, karakter peduli sosial, yakni masyarakat Aceh dikenal dengan kedermawanannya karena suka memberi dan membantu orang lain. Kedua, karakter tanggung jawab, yakni masyarakat Aceh memiliki rasa tanggung jawab terhadap kewajibannya melaksanakan perintah Allah Swt. Ketiga, karakter kebersamaan, yakni masyarakat Aceh dikenal memiliki sifat suka membantu orang lain dan mampu berkerja sama dengan sesama. Keempat, karakter menghormati, yakni masyarakat Aceh menghormati sesama manusia, baik dalam keluarga maupun lingkungan masyarakat. Kelima, karakter cinta damai, yakni masyarakat Aceh akan membuat orang lain merasa senang dan nyaman berada di sekitar mereka. Keenam, karakter disiplin, yakni masyarakat Aceh sangat disiplin dalam hal agama, mereka bersungguh-sungguh untuk mendapatkan sesuatu. Kedelapan karakter empati, yakni masyarakat Aceh mampu merasakan perasaan orang lain yang sedang kesusahan. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat delapan bentuk karakter sosial masyarakat Aceh dalam Hikayat Ranto karya Leube Isa.

ABSTRACT The character of the Acehnese people nowadays has experienced a decline due to technological developments. Acehnese people tend to be more selfish and individualistic. Therefore, how important it is for researchers to highlight and discuss the social character in the lives of the Acehnese people. This research aims to describe the social character of the Acehnese people in Leube Isa's Hikayat Ranto. This research uses a qualitative approach. The data for this research are saga verses containing the social character of the Acehnese people in Leube Isa's Hikayat Ranto. Data collected using literature review techniques. The method used to analyze data is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results of the research show that there are eight forms of social character that exist in the Acehnese people in Leube Isa's Hikayat Ranto, namely (1) social care, (2) responsibility, (3) togetherness, (4) respect, (5) devotion, (6) love of peace, (7) discipline, and (8) empathy. First, the character of social care, namely the people of Aceh are known for their generosity because they like to give and help others. Second, the character of responsibility, namely the people of Aceh have a sense of responsibility towards their obligation to carry out Allah's commands. Third, the character of togetherness, namely the people of Aceh are known to have the nature of wanting to help others and being able to work together with each other. Fourth, the character of respect, namely that the Acehnese people respect fellow humans, both in the family and in the community. Fifth, the peace-loving character of the Acehnese people will make other people feel happy and comfortable around them. Sixth, disciplined character, namely the people of Aceh are very disciplined in matters of religion, they are serious about getting something. The eighth character of empathy is that the people of Aceh are able to feel the feelings of other people who are in trouble. The conclusion of this research is that there are eight forms of social character of the Acehnese people in Hikayat Ranto by Leube Isa. Keywords: social character, Acehnese people, Hikayat Ranto
