Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji morfologi dan anatomi daun dari genus Shorea yang berasal dari Stasiun Penelitian Soraya di Kawasan Ekosistem Leuser. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode pewarnaan Johansen. Karakter morfologi yang diamati meliputi bangun helai daun, ujung helai daun, pangkal helai daun, tipe pertulangan daun, permukaan atas & bawah daun, tepi helai daun, tangkai daun, tekstur daun dan kehadiran domatiun pada helai daun. Pada anatomi karakter yang diamati meliputi bentuk luar tangkai daun dan jaringan vaskuler, pertulangan daun, sayantan melintang daun, dinding antiklinal, kehadiran stomata, trikoma, kelenjar minyak, kristal, saluran resin dan koleter pada daun. Anatomi dan morfologi ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam deskripsi ketiga spesies genus Shorea yang diteliti. Karakter trikoma dan bentuk pembuluh angkut pada petiol berpotensi sebagai karakter yang dapat membedakan spesies tersebut.

This study aims to examine the morphology and anatomy of leaves from the genus Shorea collected from the Soraya Research Station in the Leuser Ecosystem Area. The method used is Johansen's staining technique. Morphological characteristics observed include leaf blade shape, leaf tip, leaf base, leaf venation type, upper and lower leaf surfaces, leaf margin, petiole, leaf texture, and the presence of domatia on the leaf blade. Anatomical characteristics include the external shape of the petiole and vascular tissue, leaf venation, cross-sections of the leaf, anticlinal walls, presence of stomata, trichomes, oil glands, crystals, resin ducts, and colleters on the leaf. These anatomical and morphological features provide significant contributions to the description of the three Shorea species studied. The presence of trichomes and the structure of vascular tissues in the petiole have potential as distinguishing characters among the species.
