Provinsi Aceh memiliki kearifan lokal yang berkaitan dengan wilayah pantai, yaitu adat meulaot yang dipimpin oleh Panglima Laot, namun persepsi masyarakat tentang adat meulaot sebagai salah satu upaya konservasi belum pernah dilakukan sebelumnya. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat persepsi (pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan) masyarakat Kota Lhokseumawe terhadap konservasi pantai berbasis kearifan lokal, serta untuk menganalisis korelasi antaraspek persepsi (pengetahuan, sikap, tindakan) masyarakat Kota Lhokseumawe terhadap konservasi pantai berbasis kearifan lokal. Metode dalam penelitian adalah survei. Populasi adalah masyarakat Kota Lhokseumawe, diambil secara purposive sejumlah 100 responden yang terdiri atas masyarakat Kecamatan Banda Sakti, serta masyarakat Kecamatan Muara Satu. Data yang diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner dianalisis dengan penyajian berupa tabel, dan hipotesis dijawab dengan korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa persentase tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat adalah 97,6%, tingkat sikap adalah 86,9%, dan tingkat tindakan adalah 87,84%. Selain itu, angka korelasi aspek pengetahuan dengan sikap adalah 0,029 dengan nilai Sig 0,772, korelasi aspek pengetahuan dengan tindakan adalah -0,141 dengan Sig 0,162, serta korelasi aspek sikap dengan tindakan adalah 0,005 dengan Sig 0,961. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian adalah (1) tingkat persepsi (pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan) masyarakat tergolong dalam kategori sangat tinggi, (2) terdapat korelasi antara aspek pengetahuan dengan sikap dan aspek sikap dengan tindakan, dan tidak terdapat korelasi antara aspek pengetahuan dengan tindakan.

Under the guidance of Dr. Abdullah, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. M. Ali S., M.Si. Aceh Province has local wisdom related to coastal areas, namely the meulaot custom led by Panglima Laot. However, the community's perception of the meulaot custom as a conservation effort has never been studied before. The study aimed to determine the level of perception (knowledge, attitude, and action) of the Lhokseumawe City community towards coastal conservation based on local wisdom, and to analyze the correlation between aspects of perception (knowledge, attitude, action) of the Lhokseumawe City community towards coastal conservation based on local wisdom. A survey method was used in the study. The population was the Lhokseumawe City community, purposively selected to include 100 respondents from the Banda Sakti and Muara Satu Districts. The data obtained through the distribution of questionnaires were analyzed by presenting in tabular form, and the hypothesis was answered using the Spearman Rank correlation. The results of the study showed that the percentage of the community's knowledge level was 97.6%, the attitude level was 86.9%, and the action level was 87.84%. Additionally, the correlation between the knowledge aspect and attitude was 0.029 with a Sig value of 0.772, the correlation between the knowledge aspect and action was -0.141 with a Sig of 0.162, and the correlation between the attitude aspect and action was 0.005 with a Sig of 0.961. The conclusions in the research were that (1) the level of perception (knowledge, attitudes, and actions) of society was classified as very high, (2) there was a correlation between aspects of knowledge and attitudes and aspects of attitudes and actions, and (3) there was no correlation between aspects of knowledge and actions.
