Guided Writing Technique (GWT) is a technique that can assist students to build their writing skills and encourage them to express their ideas into a written form. The objective of this study was to find out whether there was a difference result in teaching analytical exposition text through Guided Writing Technique (GWT) and those who are not. Writing skill of second grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Model Banda Aceh was unsatisfactory; therefore, it was suggested that a specific treatment of learning process needs to be applied. The study focused on students’ assessment in doing analytical exposition text. To achieve the goal of the study, a true experimental design with experimental class and control class design was used. The sample of the study was XI Science 5 (29 students) as the experimental group and XI Science 4 (28 students) as the control group. The instrument of this study was test. The data was analyzed through statistical formula including finding out frequency distribution, range (R), class of data (K), class of interval (I), mean, standard deviation, and t-test. From the finding of study, it showed that the mean scores of pre-test of the experimental group was x ?=59,18 and for control group was x ?=54,46.Whereas, the mean scores for post-test of the experimental group was x ?=81,81 and for control group was x ?=56,21. The students’ writing ability in both groups were different indicated by t-test. The result showed that the t-test was 11,26. While the result of t-table of significance level 5% (? = 0,05) was 2,0211. It means that t-test was higher than t-table (11,26 > 2,0211). In conclusion, this study showed that there was a different result in term of writing skill between experimental and control group in writing analytical exposition text by using Guided Writing Technique.

Tehnik Guided Writing merupakan sebuah tehnik yang dapat membantu siswa untuk membangun kemampuan menulis mereka dan mendorong siswa untuk mengungkapkan ide-ide mereka kedalam bentuk tertulis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan apakah ada perbedaan antara siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan tehnik Guided Writing dan siswa yang tidak diajarkan menggunakan tehnik Guided Writing Kemampuan menulis siswa kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Model Banda aceh belum memuaskan; oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan perlakuan khusus dalam proses belajar mengajar. Focus penelitian ini terletak pada tugas siswa dalam mengerjakan teks analytical exposition. Untuk mencapai tujuan dari penelitian ini, penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen melalui experimen dan control group. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA5 (29 siswa) sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA4 (28 siswa) sebagai kelompok kontrol. Instrument dari penelitian ini adalah test. Data dari penelitian ini dianalisa dengan menggunakan rumus-rumus statistik mulai dari penghitungan distribusi frekuensi, range (R), kelas data (K), interval (I), mean, standar deviasi, dan terakhir t-tes. Dari hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata group eksperimen adalah x ?=58,18 dan group kontrol x ?=54,46. Dimana, nilai rata-rata untuk hasil post-test group eksperimen adalah x ?=81,81 dan group kontrol x ?=56,21. Kemampuan menulis siswa pada kedua kelas tersebut menunjukkan bahwa t-tes sebesar 11,26 sementara hasil t-tabel pada taraf signifikan 5% (? = 0,05) sebesar 2,0211. Ini berarti menunjukkan bahwa t-tes lebih tinggi daripada t-tabel (11,26 > 2,0211). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil yang berbeda dalam hal kemampuan menulis antara group eksperimen dan kontrol dalam menulis teks analytical exposition dengan menggunakan tehnik Guided Writing.
