Salah satu isu yang dihadapi di Kota Takengon yaitu terjadinya genangan air diwaktu hujan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh berubahnya pola tata guna lahan dan ketidakoptimalan dari sistem drainase yang ada. Perencanaan ini bermaksud untuk mengidentifikasi sumber genangan, mengevaluasi kapasitas saluran, dan merancang ulang dimensi saluran drainase di wilayah tersebut yang meliputi Kecamatan Bebesan, Kecamatan Lut Tawar, dan Kecamatan Kebayakan. Saluran yang ditinjau merupakan saluran primer dengan panjang 4.423 m dan sekunder dengan panjang 6.943 m. Luas daerah tangkapan airnya 1,496 km2. Data curah hujan Kota Takengon selama 18 tahun (2005-2022). Metode analisis data yang dilakukan dalam menghitung debit banjir menggunakan Metode Rasional Modifikasi. Dari hasil perencanaan diketahui ada 1 saluran trapesium dan 5 saluran persegi yang direncanakan ulang karena tidak mampu menampung debit banjir rencana yaitu Jl Tanggung Bom-Mendale (B=360 cm, b = 260 cm, H= 182 cm), Jl Sengeda (B=200 cm,H= 100 cm), Dsn Blamer 1 (B=85 cm,H= 42 cm), Dsn Aman Lapan (B=74 cm, H= 37 cm), Dsn Pasar Pagi (B=73 cm, H= 48 cm) dan Dsn Gucci (B=200 cm, H= 100 cm).

One of the issues faced in Takengon City is waterlogging during rain. This is caused by changes in land use patterns and the suboptimal drainage system. This planning aims to identify the sources of waterlogging, evaluate the capacity of the channels, and redesign the dimensions of the drainage channels in the area, which includes Bebesan District, Lut Tawar District, and Kebayakan District. The channels reviewed consist of primary channels with a length of 4,423 meters and secondary channels with a length of 6,943 meters. The catchment area is 1.496 square kilometers. Rainfall data for Takengon City over 18 years (2005-2022) were used. The data analysis method used to calculate discharge was the Modified Rational Method. The planning results revealed that six channels need to be redesigned because they cannot accommodate discharge, namely Jl Tanggung Bom-Mendale (B=360 cm, b = 260 cm, H= 182 cm), Jl Sengeda (B=200 cm, H= 100 cm), Dsn Blamer 1 (B=85 cm H= 42 cm), Dsn Aman Lapan Lapan (B=74 cm, H= 37 cm), Dsn Pasar Pagi (B=73 cm, H= 48 cm) and Dsn Gucci (B=200 cm, H= 100 cm).
