Toxocara sp. merupakan parasit cacing yang hidup di saluran pencernaan hewan ruminansia besar seperti kerbau dan sapi, infeksi cacing Toxocara sp. dapat menyebabkan morbiditas dan mortalitas yang cukup tinggi khusunya pada hewan muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat infeksi cacing Toxocara sp. pada Kerbau Murrah (Bubalus bubalis) di UPTD IBI Saree Aceh. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 7 ekor Kerbau Murrah (Bubalus bubalis) yang berada di UPTD IBI Saree Aceh. Sampel cacing dikoleksi dari feses kerbau setelah defekasi menggunakan pinset, kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam botol sampel yang berisi alkohol 70%, kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam ice box yang berisi ice pack. Koleksi sampel feses dilakukan pada pagi hari (feses segar), feses yang telah diambil dimasukkan ke dalam plastik zip, kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam ice box yang berisi ice pack, selanjutnya sampel yang telah dikoleksi dibawa ke Laboratorium Parasitologi Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Syiah Kuala. Pemeriksaan sampel cacing menggunakan metode pewarnaan laktofenol dan pemeriksaan sampel feses menggunakan metode sentrifus dan metode apung. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya infeksi dari cacing Toxocara sp. pada 2 sampel Kerbau Murrah dengan persentase 28,58% di UPTD IBI Saree Aceh.Pewarnaan laktofenol terhadap morfologi menunjukkan cacing Toxocara sp. positif sesuai dengan struktur morfologinya.

Toxocara sp. is a parasitic worm that lives in the digestive tract of large ruminant animals such as buffalo and cattle, Toxocara sp. infection can cause high morbidity and mortality especially in young animals. This study aims to determine whether there is Toxocara sp. worm infection in Murrah Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) at UPTD IBI Saree Aceh. The samples used in this study were 7 Murrah Buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) located at UPTD IBI Saree Aceh. Worm samples were collected from buffalo feces after defecation using tweezers, then put into a sample bottle containing 70% alcohol, then put into an ice box containing an ice pack. Collection of fecal samples was carried out in the morning (fresh feces), the feces that had been taken were put into zip plastic, then put into an ice box containing ice packs, then the collected samples were taken to the Parasitology Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University. Worm samples were examined using the lactophenol staining method and feces samples were examined using the centrifuge method and the floating method. The results obtained in this study were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study showed infection from Toxocara sp. worms in 2 samples of murrah buffaloes with a percentage of 28,58% at UPTD IBI Saree Aceh.Lactophenol staining for morphology showed the worm Toxocara sp. positive according to its morphological structure.
