Ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) saat ini menjadi salah satu ikan yang diminati oleh masyarakat, akan tetapi permasalahan yang sering ditemukan pada budidaya ikan nila adalah kualitas ikan yang kurang baik, disebabkan ikan memijah secara liar dan tidak terkontrol sehingga ukuran ikan tidak seragam. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dikembangkannyanya teknologi pemijahan buatan salah satunya melalui kriopreservasi sperma. Keberhasilan metode kriopreservasi sperma ini sangat ditentukan oleh kesesuaian jenis dan konsentrasi krioprotektan sebagai pelindung sel dari perubahan suhu yang drastis dan mencegah kerusakan sel akibat pembentukan kristal es. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh propolis dan menentukan konsentrasi yang sesuai pada sperma ikan nila pasca (Oreochromis niloticus) pasca-kriopreservasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ada Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 7 perlakuan dengan 3 pengulangan. Adapun perlakuan yang diuji yaitu penambahan propolis dengan beberapa dosis yang berbeda, diantaranya yaitu P1 (0 mg/ml), P2 (0,2 mg/ml), P3 (0,4 mg/ml), P4 (0,6 mg/ml), P5 (0,8 mg/ml), P6 (1,0 mg/ml), P7 (1,2 mg/ml) yang dikombinasikan dengan gliserol. Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is currently one of the fish that is in demand by the public, however the problem that is often found in tilapia cultivation is the poor quality of the fish, due to the fish spawning wildly and uncontrolled so that the size of the fish is not uniform. One way to overcome this problem is to develop artificial spawning technology, one of which is through sperm cryopreservation. The success of this sperm cryopreservation method is largely determined by the suitability of the type and concentration of cryoprotectant to protect cells from drastic temperature changes and prevent cell damage due to the formation of ice crystals. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of propolis and determine the appropriate concentration in post-cryopreservation tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) sperm. The method used in this research was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consisted of 7 treatments with 3 repetitions.
