Hutan yang berada di sekitar kawasan Objek Wisata Waduk Brayeun Aceh Besar masih sangat terjaga. Banyaknya jenis burung yang ditemukan di suatu area menandakan area tersebut masih lestari karena salah satu peran burung adalah sebagai indikator pengkajian keanekaragaman hayati. Saat ini masih sangat kurang informasi ilmiah tentang dampak keberadaan gangguan berupa kehadiran pengunjung terhadap keanekaragaman jenis burung di kawasan Objek Wisata Waduk Brayeun. Keterlibatan manusia dalam upaya konservasi dan pengelolaan lingkungan penting untuk melindungi keberlanjutan dan keberagaman jenis burung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis burung, indeks keanekaragaman jenis burung, serta pengaruh dari jumlah pengunjung terhadap keanekaragaman jenis burung yang ada di kawasan Objek Wisata Waduk Brayeun Aceh Besar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwas terdapat 43 jenis burung yang ditemukan di kawasan Objek Wisata Waduk Brayeun Aceh Besar dengan klasifikasi yang berbeda-beda. Jenis burung yang dominan ditemukan di kawasan Objek Wisata Waduk Brayeun yaitu seperti walet sarang-hitam (Aerodramus maximus), layang-layang batu (Hirundo tahitica), merbah cerukcuk (Pycnonotus goiavier), dan burung-madu sriganti (Cinnyris jugularis). Jenis burung yang dominan ditemukan jenis burung yang berasal dari ordo Passeriformes yaitu burung pengicau dan banyak ditemukan jenis burung dengan status konservasi Least Concern menurut IUCN. Indeks keanekaragaman jenis burung di kawasan Objek Wisata Waduk Brayeun Aceh Besar dikategorikan keanekaragaman tinggi dengan nilai H’ = 3,329625814. Hasil pengujian hipotesis yaitu tidak adanya pengaruh antara jumlah pengunjung dan jumlah burung yang ada di kawasan Objek Wisata Waduk Brayeun Aceh Besar.

The Forests around Brayeun Reservoir Tourist Area Aceh Besar are still very well preserved. The large number of bird species found in an area indicates that the area is still sustainable, because one of the roles of birds is as an indicator for assessing biodiversity. Currently there is still very little scientific information about the impact of disturbances in the form of the visitor’s presence on the bird species diversity in Brayeun Reservoir Tourist Area. Human involvement in conservation and environmental management efforts is important to protect the sustainability and diversity of bird species. This research aims to determine the types of birds, the bird species diversity index, and the influence of the number of visitors on the diversity of bird species in Brayeun Reservoir Tourist Area Aceh Besar. The results show that there are 43 types of birds found in Brayeun Reservoir Tourist Area Aceh Besar with different classifications. Bird species found in Brayeun Reservoir Tourist Area, namely Black-nest Swiftlet (Aerodramus maximus), Passific Swallow (Hirundo tahitica), Yellow-vented bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier), and Garden Sunbird (Cinnyris jugularis). The dominant ones found are birds from the order Passeriformes, namely passerine birds and many types of birds found have Least Concern conservation status according to IUCN. The bird species diversity index in the Brayeun Reservoir Tourist Area is categorized as high diversity with a value of H’ = 3,329625814. As well as the results of hypothesis testing, namely that there is no influence between the number of visitors and the number of birds in Brayeun Reservoir Tourist Area Aceh Besar.
