ABSTRAK

Boygrup bangtan sonyeondan atau lebih dikenal dengan BTS yang berasal dari Korea Selatan
dan sukses berkarir di industri musik Korea dan juga internasional. BTS terkenal akan lagu
mereka yang memiliki pesan mengenai keadaan sosial yang sedang terjadi. BTS juga
tergabung dalam Love Myself Campaign yang dilakukan UNICEF pada tahun 2017 dan
menjadi pembicara pada rapat PBB ke-73 tahun 2018. Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai
petanda, penanda dan makna pesan moral yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu BTS Answer : Love
Myself dengan menggunakan teori Roland Barthes. Untuk mengungkapkan persoalan tersebut
secara mendalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif interpretatif. Hasil dari
penelitian ini terdapat pesan-pesan dalam lirik lagu BTS ANSWER : LOVE MYSELF dengan
kata-kata yang membangun kepercayaan diri dan juga motivasi untuk lebih mencintai diri
sendiri dan belajar menghargai diri sendiri. Melalui lirik pada lagu tersebut, BTS memberikan
pandangan dan motivasi bagi pendengar terkhusus bagi penyintas bullying untuk bisa lebih
bebas mengaekspresikan diri dalam media sosial atau dunia maya maupun dalam kehidupan
sosial di dunia nyata. Dan menghilangkan rasa insecure dalam diri serta menanamkan konsep
selflove. Hasil dari studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa lagu ini memberikan pesan moral terkait
hubungan manusia dengan diri sendiri yakni dengan membantu penyintas bullying untuk
meningkatkan rasa percaya diri serta mengajak untuk lebih menghargadi diri sendiri.

ABSTRACT The boy group bangtan sonyeondan or better known as BTS is from South Korea and has had a successful career in the Korean and international music industry. BTS is famous for their songs that have messages about the current social situation. BTS also joined UNICEF's Love Myself Campaign in 2017 and spoke at the 73rd UN meeting in 2018. This research examines the signs, markers and meanings of moral messages contained in the lyrics of the BTS song Answer: Love Myself by using Roland Barthes' theory. To reveal these issues in depth, this research uses interpretative qualitative methods. The results of this study are messages in the lyrics of the BTS song ANSWER: LOVE MYSELF with words that build confidence and also motivation to love yourself more and learn to respect yourself. Through the lyrics of the song, BTS provides insight and motivation for listeners, especially for survivors of bullying, to be able to express themselves more freely in social media or cyberspace as well as in social life in the real world. And eliminate insecurity in themselves and instill the concept of self-love. The results of this study conclude that this song provides moral messages related to human relationships with themselves, namely by helping victims of bullying to increase selfconfidence and invite them to appreciate themselves more. .
