Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh ENSO Terhadap Variabilitas Curah Hujan Di Kabupaten Aceh Timur. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan Menganalisis klimatologi curah hujan basah, kering di peralihan pada kabupaten Aceh Timur, Menganalisis variabilitas curah hujan menggunakan metode EOF (Empricial Orthogonal Fuction) dan Menganalisis korelasi antara ENSO dengan variabilitas curah hujan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Aceh Timur pada bulan Desember 2023-Maret 2024 dan pengolahan data dilakukan di Laboratorium Meteorologi Laut, Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan data dari Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Precipitation with Station data (CHIRPS) dan data Nino Index dari National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Terdapat tiga metode yang digunakan, metode rata-rata sederhana, Empricial Orthogonal Function (EOF). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan di Aceh Timur memiliki pola curah hujan monsun, pola curah hujan tersebut memiliki korelasi terhadap indeks ENSO. Puncak curah hujan tertinggi bulan Desember 307 mm/bulan dan terendah terjadi pada bulan 142 mm/bulan. Analisis CHIRPS untuk Aceh Timur menghasilkan tiga mode. Mode EOF pada bulan April 98,35% varians total, bulan Oktober 97,74% varians total dan bulan Desember menjelaskan 98,27% varians total.

Research has been carried out regarding the influence of ENSO on rainfall variability in East Aceh Regency. This research was carried out with the aim of analyzing the climatology of wet, dry rainfall at the transition in East Aceh district, analyzing rainfall variability using the EOF (Empiricial Orthogonal Fuction) method and analyzing the correlation between ENSO and rainfall variability. This research was conducted in East Aceh Regency in December 2023-March 2024 and data processing was carried out at the Marine Meteorology Laboratory, Faculty of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Syiah Kuala University. This research approach uses data from the Climate Hazards Group InfraRed Precipitation with Station data (CHIRPS) and Nino Index data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). There are three methods used, simple average method, Empricial Orthogonal Function (EOF) and statistical tests using the t-test. The results of this research show that East Aceh has a monsoon rainfall pattern, this rainfall pattern has a correlation with the ENSO index. The highest peak rainfall was in December 307 mm/month and the lowest occurred in 142 mm/month. CHIRPS analysis for East Aceh produces three modes. EOF mode in April 98.35% of the total variance, in October 97.74% of the total variance and in December explained 98.27% of the total variance.
