Bakteri Streptococcus sp. memiliki habitat hidup ditanah, air dan lingkungan, yang dapat mencemari hewan dan manusia. Sebagai perantara kontak bakteri dengan hewan salah satunya adalah melalui organ reproduksi jantan berupa preputium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi bakteri Streptococcus sp. pada preputium kambing peranakan etawah dan untuk mengetahui tingkat sensitivitas antibiotik oksitetrasiklin, amoksisilin dan vankomsin. Sampel penelitian diambil dari lima swab preputium kambing peranakan etawah yang diperiksa menggunakan metode Carter untuk isolasi dan identifikasi bakteri Streptococcus sp. dan metode Kirby Bauer untuk uji sensitivitas antibiotik oksitetrasiklin, amoksisilin dan vankomisin. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan adanya pertumbuhan bakteri Gram positif berbentuk coccus, yang berdasarkan uji biokimia dan uji gula-gula bakteri tersebut dinyatakan Streptococcus sp. Hasil uji sensitivitas bakteri Streptococcus sp. terhadap antibiotik amoksisilin menunjukkan daya hambat seluas 24,1 mm, oksitetrasiklin 14,1 mm dan vankomisin 13,9 mm. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pada preputium kambing peranakan etawah yang sehat secara klinis ditemukan adanya bakteri Streptococcus sp. yang sensitif terhadap antibiotik amoksisilin serta resisten terhadap antibiotik oksitetrasiklin dan vankomisin.

Streptococcus sp. bacteria are found in soil, water and the environment, which can contaminate animals and humans. One of the intermediary contacts of bacteria to animals is through male reproductive organ in the form of a prepuce. This study aimed to isolate and identify Streptococcus sp. bacteria on the prepuce of etawah crossbreed goats and to determine the level of antibiotic sensitivity of oxytetracycline, amoxicillin and vancomycin. The study samples were taken from five prepuce swabs of etawah crossbreed goats which were examined using the Carter method for isolation and identification of Streptococcus sp. and the Kirby Bauer method for antibiotic sensitivity test of oxytetracycline, amoxicillin and vancomycin. The results of the observation showed the growth of Gram-positive coccus shaped bacteria, which according to biochemical tests and sugar tests, the bacteria were identified as Streptococcus sp. The results of the sensitivity test of Streptococcus sp. bacteria against amoxicillin antibiotics showed an inhibition of 24.1 mm, 14.1 mm for oxytetracycline and 13.9 mm for vancomycin. From this study it can be concluded that there was Streptococcus sp. found in the prepuce of clinically healthy etawah crossbreed goats, and the bacteria were sensitive to amoxicillin antibiotics while resistant to oxytetracycline and vancomycin antibiotics.
