ABSTRAK

Sampah laut makro merupakan bahan padat persisten yanng secara sengaja maupun tidak sengaja dibuang ke laut berupa plastik, logam, kaca, kain, kertas, karet, dan bahan lainnya. Sampah laut makro dapat mencemari wilayah perairan sehingga mengganggu ekosistem di laut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis dan kelimpahan sampah laut makro di ekosistem terumbu karang serta mengetahui kondisi terumbu karang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Bulan Mei sampai Juni 2023 di Perairan Ujong Pancu Kecamatan Peukan Bada, Aceh Besar dengan tiga stasiun penelitian yaitu stasiun 1 di bagian Selatan Pulau Tuan, Stasiun 2 di bagian Barat Laut Pulau Tuan dan stasiun 3 di Pantai Lhok Mata Ie. Pengambilan sampah laut makro menggunakan metode belt transect pada luas area transek 100 x 4 m2 per stasiun penelitian. Identifikasi sampah laut makro dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia Laut Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan Universitas Syiah Kuala. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat 4 kategori sampah laut makro yang ditemukan di perairan Ujong Pancu yaitu kategori plastik, kain, logam, dan bahan lainnya. Kelimpahan sampah laut makro tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun 3 dengan nilai 0,063 unit/m² dan terendah terdapat pada stasiun 1 dengan nilai 0,008 unit/m². Jenis sampah laut makro yang paling tinggi ditemukan adalah jenis plastik dan terendah adalah jenis bahan lainnya. Kondisi terumbu karang pada stasiun 1 dan 3 tergolong sedang dan stasiun 2 tergolong baik.

ABSTRACT Macro marine debris is persistent solid material that is intentionally or unintentionally thrown into the sea in the form of plastic, metal, glass, cloth, paper, rubber, and other materials. Macro marine debris can pollute water areas and disrupt marine ecosystems. The purpose of this study was to determine the type and abundance of macro marine debris in coral reef ecosystems and determine the condition of coral reefs. This research was conducted from May to June 2023 in Ujong Pancu Waters, Peukan Bada District, Aceh Besar with three research stations, namely station 1 in the South of Tuan Island, Station 2 in the Northwest of Tuan Island and station 3 at Lhok Mata Ie Beach. Macro marine debris was collected using the belt transect method on a transect area of 100 x 4 m2 per research station. Identification of macro marine debris was carried out at the Marine Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Syiah Kuala University. The results of this study showed 4 categories of macro marine debris found in Ujong Pancu waters, namely the categories of plastic, cloth, metal, and other materials. The highest abundance of macro marine debris was found at station 3 with a value of 0,063 units/m2 and the lowest was found at station 1with a value 0,008 units/m2. The highest type of macro marine debris found was plastic and the lowest was other materials. Coral reef conditions at stations 1 and 3 were classified as moderate and station 2 was classified as good. Keywords : Marine debris, plastic, cloth, metal, coral reefs.
