Kabupaten Aceh Besar terletak pada garis 5,05°- 5,75° Lintang Utara dan 94,99°-
95,93° Bujur Timur dan berbatasan dengan selat malaka dengan garis pantai 344 km
dan luas wilayah laut 2796 km2
dengan keanekaragaman laut yang melimpah.
Gampong Ruyung terletak dipesisir pantai Aceh Besar yang penghasilan utama
masyarakat sekitar bersektor perikanan tangkap. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk
mengidentifikasi jenis hasil tangkapan, mengetahui nilai indeks keanekaragaman dan
dominansi hasil tangkapan menggunakan pukat pantai di Gampong Ruyung.Metode
penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data primer
melalui pengamatan langsung kelapangan. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan
metode simpel random sampling. Analisis hasil tangkapan di identifikasi
menggunakan buku kunci identifikasi dan website fishbase. Hasil penelitian
menunjukan terdapat 17 jenis hasil tangkapan dengan total 24.318 ekor dengan berat
129,27 kg. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman masuk kategori rendah yakni 0,78
disebabkan rendahnya Tingkat keanekaragaman jenis hasil tangkapan diperairan
tersebut. Sedangkan nilai indeks dominansi masuk dalam kategori tinggi yakni 0,69
sebab terdapat beberapa jenis spesies yang mendominansi diperairan tersebut seperti
biji nangka (Upeneus mullocensin) dan selar kuning (Selaroides leptolepis).

ABSTRACT Aceh Besar Regency is located on the line 5.05°- 5.75° North Latitude and 94.99°- 95.93° East Longitude and is bordered by the Strait of Malacca with a coastline of 344 km and a sea area of 2796 km2 with abundant marine diversity. Gampong Ruyung is located on the coast of Aceh Besar whose main income of the surrounding community is in the capture fisheries sector. The purpose of this study was to identify the type of catch, determine the value of the diversity index and the dominance of catches using beach seine in Gampong Ruyung. The research method used was descriptive with primary data collection through direct observation to the field. Sampling technique with simple random sampling method. Analysis of catches is identified using the identification key book and fishbase website. The results showed that there were 17 types of catches with a total of 24.318 heads weighing 129,27 kg. The value of the diversity index is in the low category, which is 0,78 due to the low level of diversity of catch species in these waters. While the dominance index value is included in the high category of 0.69 because there are several types of species that dominate in these waters such as jackfruit seeds (Upeneus mullocensin), yellow cellar (Selaroides leptolepis).
