Masalah penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah kemampuan siswa kelas XI MAN 7 Bireuen menulis cerita pendek ditinjau dari struktur teks cerpen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi penelian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MAN 7 Bireuen. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 30 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data kuantitatif dengan teknik tes. Dari hasil penelitian ini ditemukan persentase kemampuan siswa ditinjau dari struktur teks cerpen penilaian terhadap struktur teks cerita pendek berupa: (a) mampu menulis abstrak cerita secara benar, (b) mampu menulis orientasi cerita secara benar, (c) mampu menulis kompikasi secara benar, (d) mampu menulis evaluasi cerita secara benar, (e) mampu menulis resolusi cerita sebenarnya, (f) mampu menulis koda cerita secara benar. Nilai rata-rata (mean) tertinggi dari hasil kemampuan siswa menulis cerpen yaitu berdasarkan komplikasi cerita dengan nilai rat-rata 82. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah hasil persentase ditemukan bahwa kemampuan XI MAN 7 Bireuen menulis cerpen sesuai dengan aspek struktur teks cerpen pada penguasaan rata-rata keseluruhan aspek termasuk dalam kategori baik. Penilaian tersebut sesuai dengan tabel klasifikasi penilaian berdasarkan Depdiknas pada bab sebelumnya

The problem of this research is the ability of class XI students at MAN 7 Bireuen to write short stories in terms of the structure of the short story text. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. The population of this research is class XI students at MAN 7 Bireuen. The sample in this research was 30 students. This research uses quantitative data analysis techniques with test techniques. From the results of this research, it was found that the percentage of students' abilities in terms of the structure of the short story text, the assessment of the structure of the short story text was: (a) able to write the abstract of the story correctly, (b) able to write the orientation of the story correctly, (c) able to write the composition correctly, (d) able to write the story evaluation correctly, (e) able to write the actual story resolution, (f) able to write the story coda correctly. The highest average value (mean) of the results of students' ability to write short stories is based on story complications with an average value of 82. The conclusion of this research is that the percentage results found that XI MAN 7 Bireuen's ability to write short stories is in accordance with the structural aspects of the short story text in average mastery -The overall average aspect is included in the good category. This assessment is in accordance with the assessment classification table based on the Ministry of National Education in the previous chapter
