Penelitian ini fokus pada pengelolaan kelas dengan bentuk metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil penggunaan atau penerapan manajemen di MAN 1 Dumai. Tujuan pengelolaan kelas adalah menciptakan situasi dan kondisi kelas yang efektif dan menyenangkan, baik sebagai lingkungan belajar maupun sebagai kelompok belajar. Subjek yang digunakan adalah guru bahasa Inggris dan siswa kelas X. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan rekaman audio wawancara. Penelitian ini berfokus pada lima komponen kelas menurut Garret (2014), yang pertama adalah desain fisik kelas, yang kedua adalah peraturan dan rutinitas, yang ketiga adalah pendidikan, yang keempat adalah pengajaran yang menarik dan memotivasi, dan yang terakhir adalah disiplin. Hasil penelitian ini adalah guru dapat mengelola kelas dengan baik mengacu pada penerapan lima komponen Garret. Komponen yang paling berpengaruh dalam pengelolaan kelas adalah desain fisik kelas serta peraturan dan rutinitas.

This research focused on classroom management in the form of descriptive qualitative research methods. This research aims to describe the results of the use or implementation of classroom management at MAN 1 Dumai. The purpose of classroom management is to create an effective and fun classroom situation and condition, both as a learning environment and as a study group. The subjects used were English teacher and class X students. The data collection instruments used observation, interviews, and audio recordings of interviews. This research focused on five classroom components according to Garret (2014), first one the physical design of the classroom, the second rules and routines, the third education, the fourth interesting and motivating instruction, and the last is discipline. The results of this research are that teacher can manage the class well referring to the application of Garret’s five components. The most influential components in managing the classroom were the physical design of the classroom and the rules and routines.
